It's upsetting that they revealed so much about the song list this early on. People are going to get so mad about the song list when this gets released...
I'm definitely going to get the 360 version when I can. I just need to get a 360...

I must say it's been a while since I've looked forward to any DDR console release. GJ Konami, hope the good news keeps on coming.
These are the kinds of comments that were made in the EXTREME2 era. This is a good sign.

The difficulties for the licenses don't look too promising at the moment, with none of the licenses are 9s. KO wise, we might have more luck in that respect.
So, DDR X Rating (1-20) won't be used anymore?
Good riddance.
Having the 1-20 scale and using it right would mean no more crap like the ratings of Chaos, FELM, FAXX, NGO, PH, PR, SMMMO, TMP, and some of the older "10" footers as well. Let's face it, DDR's difficulty range grew past the 10 foot limit when PSMO was made. Konami didn't want to admit that though, so we end up with HDV

Oh well, it won't have much impact on me, since I don't expect to have the money or inclination to buy any version of theis game anyway. X and HP2 were just too disappointing. I wanted something that I could enjoy playing through, and enjoy improving my scores on the songs. Instead I got COMBO AFTER COMBO, LOOK AT ALL THOSE COMBOS. No. I am not buying another game after that.
BLING BLING. YO, HOW MANY CARATS YOU GOT ON? THAT WAS GOLDEN.

Being someone that doesn't have to insult other people for not having the same opinions as me...
Konami never even really committed to the new rating scale to begin with. During the brief time span when 1-20 was used more than one DDR game was released with the old 1-10 scale. I didn't like the new scale because it's about as much a standard as WMV. If you're going to make people relearn what a 9 is then stick with it. It made everything uneven, and the desire to re-rate 1-20 songs using the 1-10 scale was heard over and over again in the community. I agree that if songs keep getting progressively harder that the old scale long ago ran out of room. But no one said a 10 has a ceiling for the difficulty it represents. To me, a 10 is 10 and anything above that. If you can play 10s then you can be okay with some of them being hard 10s, some being harder 10s, and some being impossible. Or you could do what Konami has always done and re rate older songs to keep 10 the max but still make 1 though 10 an even spread. More than a few 9s got rerated as 8s over the years. in my opinion SAKURA HEAVY should be rerated a 9 from a 10 just by comparing it to other 10s. And instead of "flashing" 10s why not just add another pip to the bar like they did in 3rdMIX and DDRMAX? If your problem is that some 10s feel like 11s or 12s then that's the way difficulty rating should continue to head, not reinventing the wheel that throws off your understanding of what each number represents. I think it's good that Konami decided to do away with it. Obviously X2 keeps it because they're reusing the engine one more time. It will be a unique opportunity to see what Konami rates songs on both scales by comparing the game across platforms. But after this I'm perfectly fine with the old scale because the new one was poorly executed, not that they can't try something else. Good riddance to it.

That radar looks pretty small for an old-style 9...looks more like an DS MAX-esque 7 if you ask me.

Why is every music game and its mother having "So What - P!NK" now, there are so many better songs of hers they could use that arent in 12th time as well.
Im actually also looking forward to this but im just gonna try not to look at any news for it now because the fact they've let slip about pluto this early means there must be a lot more to this game so im just gonna wait and be surprised (Hopefully!)

Ah, just noticed a small thing. On the song wheel, the jun song is displayed as "KIMONO ' PRINCESS". I think this is another case of the text screwing up, as the CD cover says "KIMONO♥PRINCESS".

First the rating scale: I prefer the 1-20 scale. Ok so Konami didn't get it right the first time, as if any dance game maker has ever gotten a feature right the first time. Konami's never gotten foot ratings perfectly right, and honestly, neither has Admarino or Roxor. They don't play dance games like we play them.
I don't like the 360/PS3 interface. It looks too much like iTunes. And yeah, the people that are developing this also made the web editor. I've never really liked the charting style of the Ultramix/Universe series of games. I just really don't like the direction this version of the game is going. In fact, this whole series of DDR games seems to be more about flash and polish.

Yeah, the cover flow feature in all recent Apple products haha.
There's always the PS2 and Wii versions I suppose if we want more traditional looking interfaces.
I don't think I'm too far off if I said that most players would want a high definition, traditional-looking DDR interface. Imagine any of the AC DDRs in full 1920x1080 glory.

I thought exactly the same thing when i saw it. They are freakily similar to the SM4 Noteskin.
To be perfectly honest i cant see this being amazingly different to any of the previous incarnations.
Hopefully, imo, they either stick to the 1-20 rating system with future releases or go with the ITG rating system. Mainly because, for me, i struggle with passing 10 Footers and when all the new songs like Fascination and Pluto became playable for me they were far too difficult for me to pass compared to older 10 footers. It just makes it harder to easily recognise the difficulty of songs that i can use as a base for me to improve.

Agreed. They should stick to the scale; it already helped clear up the extremely convoluted 10 area. Some were wrong but it was mostly pretty reliable and infinitely more accurate that SuperNOVA2.

I definitely prefer X over Universe3 in terms of steps. But, since all four versions theoretically have the same songs with the same steps, I'm hoping this means the X team is in charge of all stepping. They're probably having the Universe team do the XBox360 version since they have experience in that field, but they're clearly not in charge of music selection, so I'm hoping they also have nothing to do with the steps. Though I'd prefer them over the HP2 team which is just horrendous.

From what I've been reading so far, this is going to be a universal songlist with a little bit of give and take right?
In any case, I don't think Pluto the First is getting a remake. At most the stepchart writers will add doubles and perhaps a leg breaking Challenge chart if they hate the world enough.
They better keep the 1-20 scale for DDRX2 and any future arcade/CS releases. It might not help for songs easier than 7-8's but for 9's and above, it's nice to know if you have a chance at passing it or not.
Another jun boss sounds great. I'm hoping that it will be closer to SILVER DREAM than SUPER SAMURAI. Of course. it could also sound like PARANOiA ~HADES~.
Roppongi EVOLVED sounds okay. Personally, I think Shinjuku EVOLVED would sound better (if my knowledge of Tokyo districts is still acceptable).

Seeing "Roppongi EVOLVED" on the list makes me wonder if somebody at Konami noticed the "Roppongi Carillon" or "Roppongi Rumble" custom simfiles. I'll laugh if "Roppongi EVOLVED" sounds similar to the others I named.
