Speaking of the deadline, Daylight Savings Time is ending. This means that the MONDAY 4AM Deadline may convert to a new time an hour earlier in your timezone. For example, the PST deadline is now Sunday 8:00 PM rather than 9:00 PM. The deadline should say the same for anyone who is not affected by Daylight Savings Time.

So here's a secret about my bidding strategy - my endgame is that I make a few charts I really adore and dump in my packs in the future. Sadly this round had a bunch of songs that already have heavily itg-based charts (Back at Em, Burnt Rice specifically for this round) that I didn't feel like I'd be able to diversify my own chart enough to justify my own restep personally, so to conserve a bit of money and to try something a bit more out there I went for Kali.

I'm willing to bid far more than 1 for something I really love (see: aura, even if that didn't go exactly to plan), so if you find some nontreaded ground I'll be really interested if it goes with my shtick.

While far from my first choice (even if I was to ignore the pack thing) this song did have some interesting tricks, albeit maybe the cut could have been improved given the whole song. One point I want to note is beat 297.5 - the layering's funky but I did make sure this was right, slow the song down and see if you wish. For a while I was despairing about this song but we'll see. It took a while to get some rhetoric down that made sense and my first draft was rough.

God, what mess have I gotten myself into this time...

This is a cute, slower paced song that I thought it would be easier to identify rhythms for. However, I started to get confused on what direction to take the charts in here too. I had like, 10 notes on of heavy just sitting there as I figured out what I could do with it. Come Saturday night, I had the three lower difficulties ready. I think all of them are pretty good. But Heavy's still not done, and I had to spent another couple of hours fixing the sync for it. By the time I was done that (amidst other real life duties), I only had an hour(*) and a half. That seems like a reasonable time to complete a chart, except I'm known for being notoriously slow at charting. Nonetheless, I started to get through it as an 8 foot with actually fun 16th gallops, and the patterns--

AAAAAAAAAAAAAND nevermind that's not happening. God dammit.

And there I decided that instead of rushing I decided to spend the last 30 minutes polishing and the graphics, so it's being released with what's presented. Even though I like it, files that cap at 6 are not common in contests at all (there's like maybe a handful every contest and that's it). Maybe it could be passed down as a 7, but even still, every other file submitted has as difficult as an 8 and up.

So uh... I'm actually scared.

On the bright side, this is sure to be a breather if you do judge off of the harder difficulties, and hopefully it's not as scrambled as Kocchi. Have fun!

ANNOUNCEMENT
Vetoes will be only $5; they will no longer be 25% of your points. I overlooked how fast points would accumulate, and vetoes were becoming irrationally expensive.

I don't know if this is an issue other people have but my game doesn't read FREEDOM DIVE. I have it in my files and I tried to adjust the sm. and ssc. file but still nothing shows up. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Oh shoot, does the auto-zip put the arrow back in all the folder files? Because I didn't have them in the originals, but I thought the title in the category listing wouldn't affect that. Should I remove the arrow, or would I get dinged for that? I hate having to trial-and-error all these things in contest settings...

Don't worry, you're not gonna get disqualified for removing the arrow. If a special character is going to screw things up somehow, it's encouraged to leave it out.
