I was quite okay with this for the first 30 seconds. Then the vocals surprised me. They sound so monotone. I don't know what others think, but it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Way more bitter than walnuts. At least I'll still rate in the positives as it didn't exactly made me feel like vomiting unlike something I've listened to before...

Anyway, 01angel, I'm sorry you have to listen to this in art class several times.

I've never heard of 'When In Rome' before, but this sort of sounds like what the pop trend was back in the 80s. I'm gonna guess... 1987? Anyway, 6/10. It's fun, but there are LOOOOOOOTS of 80s songs that I could never distinguish it between.

Really weird, off-putting intro (Especially that "Oh-oh-ah-oh" vocal line that comes back in the outro), kind of limp bass, a disconnected sound between the instruments that's hard to explain, and an overall sort of feel like a Tainted Love (Soft Cell) ripoff (or tribute, I guess, since it's 2001, but it doesn't feel like it does much with that influence). That breakdown around 1:50 is cool though.

Well, the kid who kept making me listen to it in art class yesterday BLASTED IT FOR THE WHOLE CLASS TODAY. He also said he was releasing a follow-up single called "Red Starburst" in May. Yeah, right. (If he does, though, that'll be the death of me.)

The song feels like an 90s pop rock song with drums that remind me closest to Tears for Fears' "Shout". The vocal performance is acceptable since the song has a monotonus theme. The lyrics don't connect well to the title, as the singer seems to drone on and on about the same things. I don't know if the song's out of context of the album, but it doesn't stand well as a meaningful song.
