DDR SN3 idea

Interesting, I like that songlist. A new series of boss songs called rainBOW huh?

Funny that you made a songlist, I made a songlist for fun once several months ago for a version (called DDR BlackHOLE of course ) though mine was only the boss songs.

The boss songs would be unlocked in the same way as SN2, with a new EES being available with the old ES's being bumped down. They were in unlocking order:

Healing-D-Vision (Seraphic Mix) / 2MB Expert: 10 Oni: 12 (Initial Extra Stage)
Nexus / Tatsh Expert: 10 Oni: 11 (Initial Encore Extra Stage)
CHAOS mk II / DE SIRE retunes Expert: 11 Oni: 12
Altair / DJ Stellar Expert: 10 Oni: 11 (Requires enjoy level 100)
Betelguese / KJV Expert: 10 Oni:11 (Unlocked with Altair)
Antares / Stellar Bang Expert: 11 Oni:12 (Requires enjoy level 150)
Rigel / DJ Galaxy Expert: 11 Oni: 12 (Unlocked with Antares)
Sirius / Alpha ∞ Omega Expert: 12 Oni:12 (Requires enjoy level 200) (Final unlock)

If they were to add 11 and 12 ratings in SN3 (or future DDR, whatever) I think these songs should be promoted:

Wow, PSMH an 11? That's a bit far-fetched.
And I would say that Relinquish on both heavy and oni should be rated the same. The groove radar would prety much do the work, even if it's not a big change.

Sure, i think PSMH should be an 11, its flippin insane and significantly harder than the max songs at the time, which is what i consider to be what a 10 should look like. Heck Konami thought it deserved a flashing 10 rating.

And Relinquish, well, yeah the pattern isn't changed much but the steps are way more crossover-y at the end. Tho i can't pass either one, so i wouldn't know...

I'm suprised nobody pointed out Trim, thats the one i would say is cutting it close lol

Trim is pretty unbalanced as it is. It's a minute of 8/9 stuff, followed by 30 seconds of hard 10. So I'd say it should be a 10. As for PSM, it's exactly like Paranoia survivor, but a little faster, on Mirror, and with a little ending. I don't think that's enough for it to be an 11.

I can A Paranoia Survivor, but get my ass kicked every time on Survivor MAX. That little BPM change makes all the difference.;)

But the better players aren't getting bored. There's always something to achieve in DDR, until you get all Marvellouses on every song, but that's not happened yet...and won't for a long while.

Bored? There are plenty of expert charts that will give most DDR players, even good DDR players loads of pain. Oni charts arent the only difficult thing in DDR. I like it the way it is where oni mode is sort of a special difficulty reserved for only certain songs (mainly hard songs). Although the next DDR should definatly have more oni charts than SN2 did.

Naw, im all for crazy difficulty but theres certain things about ITG that i just dont really like.

Mainly its fanbase.

The main problem with SN2 is that the boss songs are getting harder, but the other songs are getting easier. Seriously, half the songs should be demoted in rating. So in a way, it feels like everything gets a chart, but only the boss songs actually keep them. I mean, these easy charts not necessarily bad, but it doesn't feel right having them as the most difficult steps. Although, like ITG, a few songs don't have to have . If it's simply not feasible, don't make that awkward stretch.

I was just stating that more songs should have challenge, and mines may be a good idea to look forward to in DDR's future. Also, people such as iamchris4life, supposedly the best ddr player, quit because it wasn't hard enough for him. Konami needs to step it up and make songs like Dead End's Groove Radar Special, but even harder than that! Even after that, mixed with some easy songs. Also, another thing, they should get the rating from one to thirteen rather than just to ten, like so many others have said. I mean, some songs are elevens and twelves when it's only rated ten because Konami didn't put that in. They should. And maybe some thirteens. I actually have some on stepmania right now that I could suggest. I don't know how to send them, and will be putting them on youtube soon!

DDR may as well change their name to ITG after all that>_<.

Plus, im sure theres stuff in DDR now that iamchris4lfe would have trouble with, like Boss Rush SN2.

Plus plus, most of us were suggesting that it go up to 12. I'm not so sure id like to see it go to 13 yet tho...
