As much as I wanted to do the 4ths/8ths thing, this song kind of required a bit extra. But hey, at least I got to step Daft Punk finally. I was inspired by AM-3P while putting this package together.

From Dancemania Classics and Dancemania SuperClassics 1. The song used is actually the extended "Dancin' Through the Night Mix", but this fact is neglected in both of the collections. As one might guess by the full set of graphics and doubles charts, as well as the early initial upload date, I originally had other plans for this file, but since I had doubles charts (and singles charts/graphics) ready for the song, I quickly decided on submitting it, before the 4th/8th sub-challenge came into fruition. Also, largely due to it being the final song in both of the aforementioned compilations, I decided to try to make it as if it were a retro 9-footer from DDR 3rd Mix.

STOP THE MUSIC AND GO HOME Well, I kinda wanted to step this one (or at least it was one of the music choices I was considering), but several problems with the internet, hard disk drive failures, problems cutting songs, and general time constraints led me to step something else. I did want to go for the whole 1999 vibe and not step a song from later than that year, but plans change.


From the DA Recording compilation album "Funkacity 2". A nice chill retro-style dance song to step to. Watch out for 's high chaos rating, but if you'd like something with far less off-quantized notes (but not devoid of them like the unofficial running challenge), try the more straightforward chart.

Edit is just a stupid early DDR inspired chart with a bunch of spins. I guess you can see Challenge as one of those overstepped Challenge charts added to those revived songs in DDR X3 VS. 2nd Mix. All footswitching and doublestepping here is intentional. Graphics will come later probably.

Not feeling how any of this turned out tbh but we'll see.

This (my Week 4 file) was a close one. In fact, I finished uploading the file right as the deadline hit. I really hope it doesn't get DQ'd...

Another track from Eezy Seven's Cookie Rhythm OvenBeats series. Cookie Run didn't even exist in the 90's but hey, this song does sound like it could have easily been recorded in 1999. It gives me a retro DDR vibe.
This one is based on Cotton Candy Cookie, who is always in love and spends all her time writing love letters - but she never seems to be satisfied with them. She's one of the more popular characters and a personal favorite of mine as well.

I keep making 9-footer charts this contest... ;w;

Also, I did want to mention how impressed I am with your creativity in regards to the Flaskback theme. You all really went with the concept, and I really appreciate that! Hopefully, now that my college workload is winding down, I can start participating. I definitely have some good ideas for this next theme; a lot of songs start with d, luckily.

Asking purely for posterity sake: is my song starting with A for AnonyWolf or S for Sigrev2? I know it says ZIv username, but most everybody refers to me as the latter name these days anyway. Just want to make sure, will be fine with whatever answer.

I think it'll have to be whatever matches the username you upload the file with. So A in your case.

Do words like A and The count as the start of the song, or is in the word after? In other words, does THE REFLEX start with T or R? I've seen it done both ways.

Mmmmmmmmmm, I will go ahead and say...they don't. Looking at how most of my music gets sorted out, many programs do ignore the "A" and "The" in titles when alphabetizing, so I'll let them go for now. So THE REFLEX starts with R. So sayeth I!

Does this mean songs starting with The This or That won't count for my song pick then?

If the word following "The" starts with T, that's fine. "This" and "That" are a bit more specific of word choice, so they can count on their own, I think.

Hi, I would like to signup, hopefully will be able to participate for a few weeks.
For this week's theme, could I use M instead of X, it's really difficult to find songs to step that start with X, however I recognize that technically my username starts with it and it might be asking a lot.
