Hi guys!
@Aegis: Yes, there is an option to disable that. That notification only appears when you're playing on the mat or the Gamecube controller.
Yes, it will support Classic Controller. I bet all my money and Wii remotes that.
I think DDR 2010 for the Wii is pretty good. Whether the Expert charts suck or not, it doesn't matter for me because I've come to a point where I play a lot of 14 footers and up and any chart that's 13 footer or below could just be easily stepped without focusing too much. Even the Geisha remix (hint: when you see the 4th-16th-8th, use the proper foot on the 4th that will allow you not to double-step the other 2 notes).
It's just the EASY timing window and the fact that you could "possibly" get a FGC (Full Good Combo) lol. Not to mention that every time I hit the 50 combo mark, they flash me, and I lose where I am on the arrows. I know I'm not the only one. Glad they fixed it, according to the recent footage of DDR II.
I'm going to be getting that Gamecube joybox converter people have been talking about to use my dualshock2, if not for my Afterburner :p.
Hope everyone enjoys this game and does proper crossovers I've always wanted to do that I can't in Stepmania (Looking at FIRE FIRE and Second Heaven, among others).

I meant to disable that when I play on pad.
I don't have a classic controller.

Yeah, yellow notes are 16ths *facepalm*
Well this shows how "well" I get the Edit mode. ._. GREEN arrows, whatever the hell note they are, I can't seem to make. Red, fine; blue, fine; yellow, fine. No green arrows.

For future purchases, Fairy Red, Wii Music would be your best bet.

On PS2 DDRs, you can just hit select and up will pop a menu. "Triple" or something close to that is one of the options. If you select "ON" for that, freezes will be disabled and you can put down 1/12ths, or at least as close as those DDRs can get to 1/12ths. All of the arrows placed will be green even if they're on beat (so if you want to end a 1/12th stream with a freeze, turn off triple and place the 1/4th as a red arrow), and the place where you put the arrows will be highlighted green when you do it.Post #2366 · Posted at 2011-10-06 10:06:07pm 14.3 years ago

Yeah, Triple's been in every Edit Mode. Granted, it's not the easiest to find, and not being able to have Freezes with them is baffling, but still.

Granted, edit mode would be nice to have though my biggest issue with it is that it's not nearly as robust as say Stepmania's setup (for the obvious reasons), and I've been spoiled to all hell with it so trying it on PS2 was like WTF. If it was actually expanded to include ALL the note types I think it'd be good to go with it, otherwise I probably wouldn't get much out of it.
As for 2010, even in my video review of it I was leaning toward the game being hit or miss. While I gave it the go ahead to buy, I also advised to be aware of it's setbacks, which for me only seemed to get worse as I played the game. I guess for me, it wasn't so much that 2010 was the holy grail of bad, as much as it was that it lacked the quality of HP3, even if 2010 was a bit more balanced on difficulty. The license list was horrific. Yeah, I was grateful for stuff like the revival of Ever Snow (one of the best 9 and below charts in the game hands down) and Memories/Rescue Me (though it's slightly off compared to the former) among others, but then you had Take Me and A Geisha's Dream (Ruffage Remix) on the other end of the spectrum that just made you wonder what they were on when they did the charts. Couple those with two of the worst boss charts in the Wii series, and the mix sorta loses its value. I had to pop in HP3 or 1 for boss charts since the ones they cooked up here were just awful. There's a difference between hard because of the skill required to do the patterns and hard because of arrow vomit. I may NEVER pass Valkyrie Dimension, but I'd much rather take a stab at that or Posession over NY Evolved any day of the week.
Now if you played it for anything other than it like Balance Board and Choreography mode, that was a whole other thing. Most of that was pretty good. However that doesn't justify the blowing of the main game for it.
To the guy who brought up Wii Music, c'mon man that's just low.
The combo splash animations could always be turned off. HP3 had that option, and so did 2010.

Think the Wii Music remark was a joke. :P
kinda like the game itself ha ha ha
Ehm. So yeah... reveal 5 tomorrow... tomorrow needs to come faster. Better yet, just release the game tomorrow.
It seems so likely that it'll be more songs, but I'd laugh if it was like characters or something.

Man this along with Hottest Party 3 will be on my play time for a while. Bonafied Lovin' is my absolute favorite license on X2 and it has the other KOs such as This Night and What will come of me which I adore.

Reveal 5 should be: Hundreds of DDR classics available as DLC for the game ;)
(I know that it's very unlikely)

I do not really understand the hype of DLC... it's just more you have to pay for. And even so, it's nice for the consumer, but then the demand for DLC alone just increases and possibly renders buying a new game useless, biting the game company in the end.
Hence ~why~ graphics must be kept amazing so people have a reason to buy more games instead of just new songs. Among... other upgrades, I guess.
And for DDR DLC specifically... wasn't it mostly stuff that was already on the PS2 series? So then you'd just be paying for what you already have... but on a wonked up scoring system and trippy-but-not-in-a-good-way graphics. Plus, Konami has shown they can promise DLC all they want but don't feel the need to keep that promise. So the announcement isn't as great as it actually happening, anyway...
Although I think they tried to earn some respect back with this game, so maybe I'm being too hard on 'em.
... it's still extra money, though.

Well, I remember talk of revivals from "classic mixes" in Konami's descriptive spiel, so I think there will be.
I know it's about as unlikely as a good Uwe Boll film, but if gentle stress and/or THE CUBE go in, I may very well have a little joy explosion.

With that along with Feel Good Inc. and the other few licenses and KOs HP3 actually makes for a decent companion game to this years edition since barring the challenge charts to said songs X2 AC had most of it's content. 2010 sorta does as well, even if it's not as liked since most of it's content is in X3. It's just HP1 and 2 that sorta get left out of the loop on this, as they weren't made with arcade parity in mind.
Oh, and if The Cube somehow made it in I'll be one of the happiest people alive as I'll no longer have to fire up Max1 to play it and can finally play it with Marvelous timing.

One more thing they should deal with to make the game closer to arcade game feel. The mod menu.
I myself do not like the wii-style menu which takes a pretty long time to bring out (if not navigating with a wiimote for some reason, it's a pain), and is more complicated than arcade-style "hold start" menu' which has more features inside it

This is actually a pretty good point. With the Wii now being the canon console, I hope for as many modes, features or little tidbits such as that to make it on from the PS2 era games.
