We'll see about that, just need to play on an AC SN2 and see what it says in the credits.
IIRC, Unbelievable was licensed directly from EMI.
A long lost 10 footer...originally from Ultramix as DLC (but those were different steps rated 8). When it appeared in Festival it got new 10 foot steps...would probably be a 13 or 14 on the new scale.

It looks like there was a trailer for this released at Gamescom, its just the same as the one from E3/Gamestop though...

Likewise in SuperNOVA 2, they just went straight to SAIFAM to get Me Against The Music, and EMI for Unbelievable. They don't need permission from Toshiba or Dancemania to license any previous or future songs.
We'll see about that, just need to play on an AC SN2 and see what it says in the credits.
They always credit the actual copyright holders of each song, anyway. Dancemania just paid for the licensing on their behalf, in exchange for in-game advertising.
A lot of the background pictures from 7th and 8th Mix AC had 3 or 4 lines of copyright text in order to give credit to the actual rights holders.

If you are speaking about the Stepmania 4 looking DDR game then it was shown at Gamescom too.
We could see edit mode, octomode, changing themes etc. (it looked terrible *sniff*)

"changing themes"? How did that work?
And you probably shouldn't worry too much...The game isn't coming out until January 2010 at the earliest, so I'm sure that's still a BETA. (Remember that for X2 and HP3, they are basically just updating interfaces that have already been made. They're building a brand-new interface for the PS3/360 versions of that game. I'm just hoping they are going to be using this time wisely. Remember the first playable build of Hottest Party that used Mario mix arrows and fonts and SuperNOVA characters who danced like they had giant stiff wires attached to them? *shutters*)

Yep, I remember that.
Well, it worked the same way you would change a theme in stepmania.
Actually the songwheel, mode selection and other non in-game look nice. It could use some changes but that's more likely to happen. In game for the time being is like...plain sm4. so they could have show probably other stuff. Introduction of octomove mode is nice but not really sure where it takes the game. (oh I remember autogenerated technomotion charts....those were times....hehe)
There's also step edit more but it rather seems like step making "editor". We will see what the game will offer and how the songlist will look like.
Just KONAMI needs more time to work on this. Naoki was pretty enthusiastic about the game and hopes we might see the game released in summer next year. I just can't judge anything yet but I HOPE KONAMI will do this right this time.
(there will be downloadable stuff for the game. hopefully we might see some song packs, might send edits over the internet and get new themes and such.)

Ah, I had forgotten it reappeared on the PS2. After seeing the negative changes to NEMESIS and SOMETHING WONDERFUL I didn't care for the re-written steps for the ULTRAMIX songs and probably never even played the new MAD BLAST.

What are you talking about? NEMESIS had MUCH better steps! SOMETHING WONDERFUL was more apples-and-oranges, wouldn't hurt to have both. But UM's NEMESIS chart was mostly like an overzealous 6-footer. The skips in the intro and the streaming at the end of FESTIVAL's really added some depth and character to the chart.
MAD BLAST has an AWESOME FESTIVAL chart. It would be a 14 minimum for sure, a lot like On The Break, but faster and with a pretty outrageous ending that *can* be spun, but can be done easily without doing so, too.

Those games still have a looooooong way to go. The Marvelous is virtually unreadable for some reason, the arrows are still incredibly ugly, and the screens just feel really... pre-alpha.
The interface kind of worries me that the XBox360 team is behind these ones. The last thing this new DDR needs is frame rate issues. At least with the dancing stages there hopefully won't be the usual assortment of seizure-tastic backgrounds.

There's still a box around the diagonal arrows... I thought those were removed already. I actually am starting to like the new arrows now that they're more polished and clearly being drawn for an HD display to appreciate the... sparkle? The Freeze Arrows just look silly however. But they could use less bubble softness and more clear edges. If Konami is willing to take the StepMania 4 arrows why can't they use the ITG arrows?... that they own now...
I really like the realistic stages that the dancers are on this time. More like HOTTEST PARTY 2 and less "Hack the Gibson". I like the 'tournament' stage that makes it look like you're at a real dance off. I wonder what the theme of the Master Mode will be this time.
Okay, I'll play them all again and see how I like them now. It's been a while actually. The thing I don't like about NEMESIS's changes is they took out the blank space in the song, which I loved for the fake out it created and replaced it with a stop that shows more arrows waiting ruining the cute surprise. I was one of the only people that likes the original SOMETHING WONDERFUL because it's flowing rather than quantified.
And the big thing with me which is a song doesn't have to be a 10, or even a 7 (on the old scale) to be fun to play. But I certainly wouldn't think MAD BLAST and Boss Song in the same train of thought. But as I said I'll play it again.

MAD BLAST's Festival chart isn't the greatest, but it's better than the Ultramix one. It's kind of awkward and I don't find it terribly entertaining but for the sake of completion I'd still like to have it. I'd say it would be a 13 or 14; good for a FINAL STAGE. It wasn't ever a boss song, actually; it was just a regular entry on Festival, but it was a 10 so I consider it noteworthy.

Pluto The First is absolute trash. The steps, the sync, the whole thing is just sour, I hope we never see it in any game, ever again.
THANK YOU.Oh and for those asking about Mad Blast (well, hope you can read 1x):
As far as HP3 goes, am I the only one who noticed that they finally fixed the arrow skin for freeze arrows in Reverse so the heads point down? That's one of the issues I mentioned on DDROC

Okay, it's official. I'm canceling my preorder of the PS3 DDR and switching to the PS2 one.
The interface for the PS3 is soooooooooooooooooooooooo incredibly ugly.
The arrows look like stepmania, the font/life bar are strange, the dancers are.... yeah.
I don't care if there's a crapload of DLC (that's probably already on the JP games).
I don't care if there's a new mode (that seems more gimmicky than anything).
I don't care if it has online play (so other people can see when I have bad days).
I'm too used to the older-style interface, which the PS2 version will have.
I'm getting the PS2 version. I might get the PS3 one later, but not right when it comes out. Not for 60$. Used plz.
End rant. :V

Whoa, slow down buddy, the game is still a little under a year away. They've clearly got a lot of work left do, but also a decent amount of time in which to do it. It's too early to condemn it, though it is troublesome how they keep promoting it using rather unflattering screenshots.
After so many years of it the other way, it looks kind of weird.

MAD BLAST (FESTIVAL)
is the kind of 10-footer that Xepher
is. I think the Ultramix version of NEMESIS had a stop in the same place (the identical Double
proves that), but you could only notice the stop on 1x, or *maybe* 1.5x, but the next step kind of hid behind the score display, hardly noticable at all. (I really loved the gallopy opening of it, too!)
I actually think the New-Gen DDR looks kinda cool. And I would expect the arrow skins to be part of the customization feature. I do find it funny how all 4 difficulties of a song are displayed on Pic #4, yet they all read "Basic" and have identical scores. Tells me they're still working on the screenpack. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this WAS a 360/PS3 port of Stepmania 4, to be honest.
EDIT: Johnny's new hair is rockin'.

The Ultramix version had no stops. For Festival, they changed none of the Double steps, but they did add a stop to NEMESIS and fixed the sync on INSERTiON (Machine Gun Kelly Mix). That's why the Double steps for NEMESIS are the same between Festival and Ultramix, but the charts wouldn't line up because Festival includes a stop where Ultramix doesn't.

I would be. There are so many engine differences between StepMania and real DDR that working with StepMania 4 would be a complete waste of time. StepMania is extremely insecure, but it was never meant to be. Not to mention I'm sure KONAMI wants nothing to do with StepMania.
