I know there were people who liked Are You That Somebody, but wished I had done some things differently. To thank you for all of your thoughtful feedback, I've made nearly all of the changes you suggested and reuploaded the file so that you can enjoy it:

1. The flow error near measure 27 has been fixed
2. There were a few sections of the song in which a rhythm was not charted consistently across the whole section, e.g. measure 9; these few instances have been fixed
3. The mines at the beginning have been removed
4. When the exciting electro starts, the difficulty now increases (jumps were added where previously there were only boring 4th notes)
5. I didn't realize that adding "(Monolith Remix)" to the name of the song when I uploaded the files to this site would cause the banner, jacket, and background to be renamed and then not be called properly when the simfile was played in certain programs. The simfile now requests the proper filenames, e.g. [Nostalgia Is Lost] - Are You That Somebody (Monolith Remix)-bg.png
6. Freezes were lengthened in order to match the music more perfectly

I will be even more careful not to repeat these same mistakes in the simfile I have been working on for this week so that you all can enjoy it more. Thank you again for all of the feedback! Special thanks to DDR Addict for some detailed proofreading.

I'm dumb and accidentally deleted the .SM for Scarz' "Sakura Mirage" file, so I reuploaded it. I'm posting this just so people aren't thrown off by the fact that a) the simfile page says "Last Updated By ddrstepper" and b) I already submitted a file. Sorry about that.

This. Honestly the criticism I've gotten from this contest has helped me immensely with my simfile making. If you're aware of the mistakes you've been making, it makes it so much easier to pick them out in the future and make your files that much better.

As the lyrics take a turn for the dark there (it goes from 'ooh, have a look in the shed and we'll go off together' to 'SMASH IN THE HEAD, SMASH IN THE HEAD') I reckon it fits. The numbers here probably suggest otherwise, but still.

Added DDR Addict's file and crusher189's file to my HM list.

Also, I fix the simfile column in my spreadsheet to 405px (50 characters on Consolas 11pt) to not make the sheets really long. I apologize if anyone's song title is longer than that, because they will be shown partially.

Finally, this guide (by ddrXero64) could help you greatly if you want to improve your lower charts. Check them if you haven't already.

As long as we're reviving posts that might be helpful to others, I can't help but notice that there are a few contestants that have been constantly criticized for their use of doublesteps. If you are one of those people, please refer to this guide by TaroNuke and the post below it by xRGTMx. Back in SC2012 I had no clue as to why doublesteps were an issue, but their guides led me in the right direction to improving my files, so I highly encourage those of you who use doublesteps to use their guides.

That being said, doublesteps aren't always discouraged. You just have to learn when it's appropriate to use them (which is something I still haven't had a good grip on so I tend to avoid them).
