Managed to update, and now the game acts as if I had no data and would ask for a new UN/PW before telling me the game is in maintenance. [what Poochy was talking about]

Yeah, they're still trying to fix that bug before they bring the game back up. The servers are all still in maintenance mode.
According to their Twitter, if you encounter the bug where it acts like you have no data, your user ID will still show up under Settings (from your home screen) -> CxB.
UPDATE: According to their latest tweet, they've fixed the bug, which was apparently a client-side problem, and they've submitted an update to the iTunes Store and are waiting for it to be approved. Presumably, this means those of us who downloaded the update will still need to download another one once it's ready.

About 45 minutes ago, there was a brief window in which players who hadn't downloaded the update could log in again. Based on Twitter timestamps, it looks like this lasted less than 15 minutes before the servers went back into maintenance mode and everybody got kicked back to the title screen again.
I have a sneaking suspicion the folks at Capcom just restored a server backup from when maintenance first started, since the server is supposed to return an error message on a client version mismatch.

The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if the servers didn't get completely fixed until after the new High Score event was supposed to end.

Worse than DDR Freedom or Pocket Edition?
Comparisons aside, this is really ridiculous. I wonder if Capcom will give any sort of compensation, but I'd guess not.

Well considering the game has been down for two days straight and tickets currently regenerate at a rate of 3 an hour...
3 x 48 = 144 tickets. Would be nice if they gave us something like that in compensation, but I'm not holding my breath.

Knowing what Capcom's been like lately, my bet is on us getting "compensation" in the form of some sorta money-grabbing promotion they were probably going to do anyway. Something like "sorry for the downtime, to compensate, Premium Tickets are 15% off for this week only!"

Well, I got back on. Ticket regen is still 20 minutes and each difficulty is still 5 tickets. Event log shows the new event as starting at 1/23 23:00 Japan time, but that time passed an hour ago.
I haven't received 100 tickets yet. Has that been tweeted by official staff? The only new thing that shows up in the news is premium ticket sale, which, if this is the only "compensation", is totally frustrating.

Humm... weird.. My event log shows that the Capcom Anniversary event starts on 24/1 1:00pm ~ 30/1 9:00am Japan time instead...

I just restarted the game and received them as a "Special Login Bonus", like Re:Milky Way during the previous event. Looks like they're awarding a week's worth of Login Bonuses to everyone as well as the 100 Premium Tickets.
