Z-I-v Summer Contest 2013

If I may suggest. As I will be probably submitting two more files and there will be probably some other last minute entries... can we create a new category for each round? If next rounds will be as populated as this one then we can expect even 2 or 3 times more simfiles than the last year contest had.

This idea would be good for people who don't want to redownload XX simfiles that they had from previous pack generations.

The problem with making a pack is that it works for the first week. Usually, though, that's the biggest week.

It would be nice if there were a way to make sub-packs within a category.

I had to rush a few charts just to get these in. Let me know if there are any sync errors.

That sounds like an awful lot of work, adding every single participant to a new category each week.

Let's just wait, there is usually a big drop off in Week 2 and subsequent weeks after that.

I can't agree with that. There are three hosters of this contest so it should take about 1 or 2 minutes to complete this task. On the other hand downloading of 40~50 files for 40~100 users has much more cumulative time than it takes to create new categories.

Point is, there's been three summer contests already and the need to do this hasn't arisen, we won't have a turnout THIS big every week, it's OK, it doesn't need to happen.

I would have to ask for a category every week and it would just clutter things more. I do expect a big drop off by week 2 and I'm also shocked with the number of submissions we have seen. The only advice I can give is keep on top of the contest everyday and download the files as they come.

How about this: At the beginning of each new week I will download the previous week's files and compile them into a .zip and host them via drop box. Will that work?

Do we need to post the sims/jackets here when we upload them, or can we just mention that we posted one?

It's not required, but most people will check the thread for new sims instead of the actual category.

^ Lol, actually, all my data on my computer was wiped when stuff happened, so I need to make the sims all over again. It might take a while. But I have one done now, haha XD
