So anyone has an idea of how to unlock songs yet? I played all the songs, plus the nonstop-like courses, and besides loads of achievement, I didn't get anything yet...
Konami sent me an e-mail since I asked them how to unlock songs in Dance Evolution/Masters. You need to get A or higher on set lists

May be possible with DLC.. There are few other songs which might possibly ended up being DLC as well..
My guess:
- You are a star
- Let's Get Away
- A Brighter Day

Half the song doesn't even have a routine to it and the routine to the second half is fairly bad. The only "cool" thing about She is my Wife's video is that the beatnation crew is dancing in it, and that effect would be lost on DM/DE.

The metro are a bunch of idiots then.
Their consistency is that of flour and water. Thick and lumpy.
Dance central's
compared with dance evolution's
feel a lot more like an old school rhythm action game than Dance Central's more freeform approach.
It's all good fun though and on easy mode it's a lot more accessible than its Kinect rival. On easy the gap between new prompts is very long and even allows you time to do your own thing in between. Whack the difficulty up to expert though and it feels much more like the Dancing Stage of old.
This is a perfectly valid approach to the dancing game concept but it's hindered by two things: the soundtrack and the use of Kinect.
The game does have a simultaneous two-player mode though, so perhaps Dance Central was wise to leave it out in favour of increased accuracy.
The faults are a shame because the basic gameplay works perfectly well and if the technical issues can be ironed out, and the musical horizons broadened, a follow-up could be the real evolution needed.
First off, they don't have a consistent format for their reviews. Second, they point out worse sounding flaws in one game and yet give it a higher rating than the other. I'm thinking this is all going to come down to which one has the least original tracklist. Obviously rockband/DC , being american, will be full of songs that americans recognise. Dance evolution/DDR, while not being full of JPOP IN THE SLIGHTEST, because it sounds slightly more international and comes from an asian developer, it's only natural for people assume it is, and to gravitate towards dance central as a result.
Bah. I'm too tired to properly anti review this crappy review.
Oh and EDIT -

Given the high level of difficultly of some routines the game's effectiveness as a party game is dependent on one of two independent factors: the existing dancing prowess of the participants and their level of drunkenness. If either is high enough then hilarity will soon follow. But if not then there can be a lot of awkward fumbling and frustrating cursing as the whole thing proves just too hard for a casual effort.
Cons: Very few game modes and an almost endless range of obvious missed oppurtunties. No simultaneous two-player mode. Average graphics.
In Short: It's not a new idea, the feature set is thin and the presentation is mediocre.

While I would say "Maybe they've been taught to honor their local goods/merchandise/etc. so they pick something local", it doesn't apply since Harmonix is not a European company, right?

I figured this might be a bit related. This guy right here is angry that Oneechanbara was given a low score while Bayonetta was given a high score The latter was lauded for whatever the hell they think was cool with it while the former was derided for devaluing women.
Hypocrisy.

To be honest, considering that the Metro is just a newspaper, and not only that, but a FREE one, you can take everything they say with a load of salt.

I picked it up today and I gotta say its AMAZING. Quite a work out too. Favourite choriography by far has to be Afronova Primevil. It was the first song I played on Extreme and it really made me sweat. The fact that some of poses you actually had to jump to hit what hillarious but so much fun. My Summer Love is also one to look out for as a great song with a great dance. I really hope we see some DLC soon.

After playing a whole week, I must say that I really love the game! I really look forward the DLC songs, as there are so much great songs they could put in that game! I'd also like some DanceMasters KO... BTW, I unlocked everything except DM Star, how do we unlock that song?

Wait, wait, hold on, hold on. Let me get this straight;
This is the next generation of DDR for the Xbox 360...
... and Senses isn't on the songlist?

well you're close. it's basicly the love child of DDR and Para Para Paradise. note the Avex tracks.
this is basicly what you get with the high movement of both games and get rid of most of the controllers and replacing it with you and yourself with the kinect

Clearly, an oversight on Konami's part. This is the next generation of DDR for the Xbox 360...

DanceEvolution unranked in either charts...

Fairly expected, to be honest. The game wasn't marketed in a way or given a song list that would appeal to someone staring at Dance Central and DanceMasters in a store.

I also have a feeling its the sales people at places like Future Shop, Best Buy, EB Games/Gamestop aren't helping. Let's go through the scenario that probably happens 100 times a day...
(Middle aged woman walks in to store to purchase kinect for her family for christmas)
Woman: Hi. I'm wondering what games are good for the family for Kinect.
Sales Rep: Yes. We've got some good dancing games to keep the family active.
Woman: I see two here. Which one is better?
Sales Rep: Well Dance Central has many songs your family hears on the radio all the time and it's the one you see the commercials for on TV.
Woman: And the other?
Sales Rep: The songs are just Japanese stuff no one knows.
Woman: OK, thank you.
We all know this happens...
I do think Konami should have put some commercials on TV. It would at least have helped, 'cause so far, I'm doubting they'll even consider it worth it to make DLC at this point.
On a side note. How do you acivate the Alternate Universe thing?

Heyyyyyy! Look in the background, it's the JapaNation logo! JapaNation is a series of party events (kind of like HOUSE NATION) hosted by Super Best Trance artist DJ Kaya, focusing on the J-Dance genre. Including popular artists like KODA KUMI, BoA, Tohoshinki, AAA, ravex and m-flo.
I wonder if licensed remixes or original songs from the event could appear as DLC.
