So, I just got back from the DDR A test location in London
I heard a rumor that there were exclusive licensed songs for DDR A in Europe. Could you tell me if this is true?Post #2142 · Posted at 2016-07-27 08:15:24pm 7.8 years ago

It's been going on for a couple of days now. If there were exclusive licences, we'd know about it already.

There are no additional songs outside of those available for the US market on the DDR A in Las Vegas.
I guess there's nothing stopping them adding additional licences for the European market if the test location is successful and there's an actual rollout of machines here, but I'd suspect it'd be a similar deal to the other western licences and everywhere would get them.

keep in mind that this is just a loctest. the US didn't get any news of licenses until about a week before the game officially rolled out.
i honestly don't remember what the source was, but i remember hearing about the licenses directly from people involved in making this loctest happen

I'm still apprehensive it's going to happen, there's enough overlap between the EU and US charts that there's not as much of a need to have different licences as there used to.
Also, it's Konami. I'm surprised they have the cash to consider doing a loc test with the potential for release in the first place.

Nope! I really want there to be a new event sometime soon too! I hope it brings new original songs and BEMANI crossovers!

So am I - EXTRA SAVIOR said "Vol. 1", which implies the existence of a Vol. 2, and Extra Exclusive only has songs going to Rank 2 EXTRA EXCLUSIVE, despite Rank 3 being the maximum.

I was also there, no licenses added yet but from what i've gathered from talking around, it was kind of a last minute test thing by the distributor to see if it's worth having it come out over here essentially which is why it's not in a shiny white cabinet which probably would have cost a fortune to send over when they probably had the other cab lying around ready to go.
Like the others said, if it's going to be released worldwide the licenses can be done at a later date now they can be added in via updates and patches, it'd be stupid for Konami to spend a lot of money on songs they might not even have a market for because the game didn't do well enough to get purchased!
That being said I hope it does well enough they go through with it and the cabinet was in remarkably good condition, i managed to SDG Posession Expert/17 somehow on it so it must be good! But yeah LV REALLY need to turn down the volume of their ITG frankenstein stepmania cabinet thing they have because it literally drowns out every other music game in the arcade.

I mean, there's not a huge barrier between songs popular in America and songs popular in the UK like there would be for America/Japan.

I'd be glad if there were more Western songs.

I just realized the whole theme of DDR Ace. The whole airplane style of it. It probably has to do with the game going worldwide, and they're probably going to make sure that slowly, DDR Ace makes it to every major country in the world, and suceeds in it. Additionally, there's Japanese and American oriented music, and apparently there will be European oriented music too. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a batch of music aimed at Koreans as well; It would give Pump it Up a run for its money. They could also have a batch of music aimed at Latin American audiences. That would make for 5 different types of culture enjoying music they are used to hearing, and then trying out music from the other countries as well. Basically, playing DDR Ace could be like hopping onto an airplane and going on a world trip to discover different types of music. It would be nice for those 5 areas in the world to have around 8 songs aimed at them, with the list of licenses topping out at around 40 licenses.
Is this a silly realization or idea?

I would personally say that what you wrote is a really interesting way to look at it, and it would truly be awesome if Konami somehow gets DDR Ace to appear worldwide. An international air trip via a gaming cabinet? Oh yes please, sign me up! I mean, one can dream, right? There is no such thing as a silly dream, if you ask me. Dreams are different from plans or goals, and you can always dream big!
Now, regarding multicultural licenses; given how expensive it is to get a great variety of songs for commercial uses all over the world, this is pretty unlikely. I mean, from the full list, we are still missing 11 songs in the US version, which I am hoping will be playable in an update later. If such a thing ever happens, though, hey, what an amazing sky-based theme this would be!
One thing is for sure; I pray for this game's success.

Just noticed that Ghetto Blasta Deluxe had been removed too - not sure if it's just the NA version that's missing it, or if it's all versions.

Bemanistyle is collecting feedback for DDR A in NA. Fill it out if you haven't already done so.

Damn, someone beat me to it. XD
Anyway, the survey's only good until Monday, so anyone who has played DDR A recently will get their chance to speak their mind about the game.
As for me, I basically wrote that I liked that it is 98% like the Japanese version, and disliked not being able to use the eAmuse Basic Course/Paseli exclusive features (Rival Data, etc.). Also said that I would love to see more events/unlockable songs and maybe a story mode like SDVX or even Museca. Lastly, I wrote that Iiked what I am seeing, and hoping to see more Bemani games be released in America now that we have our own eAmuse servers.

I put that they should make a goddamn 20. Also they should consider making a CS game for XB1 and PS4. Probably won't happen but hey, a guy can dream.
