I hope they'll fix the extra step at the end of Valkyrie Dimension (the randomly placed jump at the 380 section at the end). At least I think it's an extra step. I sure hope that it wasn't intended.

You would think that, but Dynamite Rave's extra step towards that causes a jump has survived since its debut in 4th mix.

They also never fixed the extra step in Pluto Challenge, or the missing step in CHAOS Challenge, so I wouldn't count on there being any changes, because intentional or not, KONAMI rarely changes charts like that. Tongue

I know about the missing step in CHAOSChallenge, but where are the "extra" steps in Dynamite Rave and Pluto?

Is this a big deal on home versions? Thats the place to practice. I'll admit oni mode turned me off in the arcades, but home versions make it easy to get better at it since its "free" to try again (it just costs you the price of a console game). Also, most home versions have a few easy courses to get you into it, like DDRMax2 7th Mix (the import Max2) had a BeForU course that was something like love <3 shine, eversnow, breakdown, candy <3 and dive into the night all on standard, and even the arcade version had nearly=130 where all the songs were around 130 BPM, and it was long train runnin' standard, so fabulous so fierce standard, look at us standard, higher oni, spin the disc heavy.

There are plenty of beginner courses to be found in each mix, and intermediate courses to work on as you get better before the advanced and impossible courses. Give it a shot and practice it before you completely write it off, its actually a lot of fun.

Yes, indeed, it was good practice, but I don't have a PS2 pad. D8; I used a PS2 controller (or shadowed to the charts while one of my sisters CCR'd, but I digress), which is not so easy to control with compared to a GCN controller. I get agitated under pressure, and I don't like failing the song halfway through because I DARED to get 4 goods. :<

This wait is killing me! I want to play the most epic DDR in ages right now! (Throws a little pissy fanboy tantrum)

What songs are you guys looking foward to the most?

Obviously the rda and crossovers are going to be on the tope of the list but I am excited to see the charts for Only Girl and Spice up Your Life.

Goods keep your combo on this one though (for no bloody reason). Maybe you'll like it now.

Of course, you could just, y'know, get better. It's SUPPOSED to be a challenge.

Maybe there's an option for goods to break/keep combos.

The closest X2 cabinet is approximately 500 miles away in Illinois, so I'm looking forward to just about everything revealed so far! I don't have a 360 or PS3 either, so there's that.

I'm most interested in playing all the charts that are rated 14. Especially Shiny World and Second Heaven (assuming the Challenge is there)

It makes everyone sad.

That, and the old 10-scale with these crazy charts.

Konami should just release not a new pad if it's economically unwise, but an official good-quality converter, since a majority of the fans are probably flocking to the Wii from another system. Whether it be primarily from the PS2 or 360, I have no idea... but I'd be all for a good PS2 converter. Tongue

Yeah, Goods should break combo. With Goods continuing combo, the only way to break it is to completely miss the step altogether.

I know about the missing step in CHAOSChallenge, but where are the "extra" steps in Dynamite Rave and Pluto?

DYNAMITE RAVE Heavy in the beginning has the part where it has those 16th clusters, starting at the first rap verse. One of the 16th clusters has a jump in there, for no reason, the music isn't any different, it just seems like an error, but one that has persisted in every incarnation of the song.

Pluto Challenge has the beginning part following the bass, but there's a jump randomly in there and the next step is "missing" as if one of the arrows making the jump was actually supposed to go a 16th later. The rest of that part follows the bass as expected.
