Let's see here... NAOKI, check. jun, check. dj.TAKA, check. Darwin, Bill Hamel, Naughty G., etc.; check. Isn't HP team the DDR X team?
When we refer to the "HP2 team" we're referring to the development team: stepchart writers, programmers, graphic artists. The sound team, or at least NAOKI and jun, are absolutely capable of spearheading an AC initiative and the best mix in recent memory music-wise, SuperNOVA2, was just that: jun was the SOUND DIRECTOR.

Quote: Konami Press Release issued today
op’n rhythm, DanceDanceRevolution and Karaoke Revolution all on display in Cologne.
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced a new wave of rhythm action and musical games, that will be shown at this year’s gamescom in Cologne, Germany, giving a taste of things to come for fans of Japanese pop culture and all things Bemani.
pop’n rhythm, the classic arcade game which has a long history in Japanese Arcades and where players are challenged to hit button ‘poppers’ to the beat, will be playable on Nintendo Wii in Cologne. The new version will give fans a fantastic opportunity to see this crazy and addictive game, transferred onto the Wii and utilising the console’s unique control system.
DanceDanceRevolution is also back, and bigger and stronger than ever before! Making its debut on the PLAYSTATION®3 in Spring 2010 and with a new iteration for Xbox 360, the games enjoy a massive list of licensed tracks, impressive graphics with customisable characters and a brand new ‘Octo-Move Mode’. Dancers can now use all eight directional arrows on the dance mat, which means greater freedom of movement – just like real dancing! Similarly, there are even more ways to burn calories whilst having fun! DanceDanceRevolution Producer Naoki Maeda will be present at gamescom, too, and will present the publisher’s line-up of dancing games.
Finally, Karaoke Revolution is heading to Europe. Karaoke has never looked so good, with in depth character creation, stunning stages where users can strut their stuff and sing their heart out to a multitude of licensed tracks. Karaoke Revolution is coming to PLAYSTATION 3 and Wii in November 2009, being compatible with most available microphones.

Huh...It looks like NAOKI's presentation will maybe be focused on the PS3/360 games? Maybe it will be something to look forward to after all.

Welcome.
"DDR Vol. 1" was the tentative title for this ubiquitous release, so right now, only the PS2 and Wii versions will be released in October.

Pix is back? Nice!
Baile La Samba is coming back? I didn't expect that... I didn't think much of it in SN. Isn't that the third time it's appearing?
And it looks like we got word on one of the mysterious licenses. I wasn't expecting So What, honestly.
Great to hear we get a new mode in HP3. I'm sure there will be more.

e-s-g, their appearance was confirmed before. We just didn't know what song it was but Let's Get It Started was hypothesized. Now it's confirmed.

I'm seriously not reposting all these screens lol, so take a look here:
http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/picturegallery.php?categoryid=77
Gotta a couple more bits from the fact sheet.
One more license for you
La Camisa Negra /Juanes
And, on a happy note, both X2 and HP3 will have a song count of 60 or more.

Whoa! The character artwork look fantastic! It's great to know some of their names now too. Looking forward to hearing about this new Tournament mode in HP3. If it's setup similar to a real DDR tourney, that would be pretty sweet but I'm reserving speculation till later.
Notice for HP3 you can now choose your backup dancers. That's a nice touch.
lol, first a mech suit and now an astronaut suit.
And wow, at least 60 songs in HP3? That's great news, pie! Got the fact sheet handy?
Also, the X2 logo looks pretty good if you ask me.

Still a broken image.
Oh well, judging from the thumbnail, it looks a bit cheap compared to X.

That is really odd, I don't know what to tell you :/.
My impressions
-Just listened to So What, another excellent license addition to the lineup.
-Also listened to La Camisa Negra which gets an "average" vote for me.
-Really liking the customization for HP3, you can even customize the back-up dancers.
-Very happy to see that we're getting alternate costumes for the characters in X2.
-All the gameplay screens do not show any awkward step patterns, which hopefully is a sign that the HP2 step team isn't doing the charts!
Overall, really psyched for this game
