I'm starting to think as opposed to a Wii U, I should get an Omega GX. I could really use one in my opinion, because I feel like I should start playing DDR more, like I used to. I've only played once or twice every two weeks now since September because I haven't really felt any urges to do so. On top of that my mat's down arrow is starting to deteriorate in quality, either having massive lag whenever I step on it or not registering. But if I buy the pad, I can only use it for one thing and one only. Playing DDR or SM. I guess sort of a counter to this is that I feel like I'm pretty devoted to DDR, but I just don't play very often.

On the other hand, the Wii U is an actual console that I can do much more with. I can do more than just use it with a certain type of game. I'm also a big fan of Nintendo with Mario being one of my favorite series of games, plus the new Smash Bros is coming out soon as well, and I love Smash Bros. Earthbound, a game I hold a strong desire to play, is also out on it too, which pulls me a bit more towards the Wii U. The downside I see to it is the fact that I already have a Wii, which is able to do the majority of things I'd generally use the U for.

Tl;DR : I'm starting to think about getting a GX because of I want to start playing DDR more, but the Wii U I can do more with. The GX I can only do one thing with, and I can do the majority of stuff I'd do on the U on my Wii.

Which do you guys think I should learn towards more? Maybe I'll think about it the next few days and then give which one I'm leaning towards. Still would appreciate you guys' opinion on what I should go with!

@RevAddict5 it all depends on how much you want to play. If you are considering the pad I would highly, highly recommend you get SM set up and running because SM is 200x more fun than DDR in my opinion. I don't really play console games or DDR for that matter anymore so I should stay out of this debate though LOL

Long answer short: get the dance pad, and don't even bother with the Wii U.

I have the Wii U, and so far, it hasn't really disappointed me. In fact, I seem to be having lots of fun playing it.

If you like Nintendo, the Wii U is the way to go. Just make sure there are actually games you want to play on it before you buy it, I guess. 3D World and Nintendo Land are pretty good. I really love the co-op stuff, but I have no feedback for 1-player games.

Except Wonderful 101; that game is effing amazing but not for quitters.

Upon making a comment about how nobody bought the Ultramix games, I went out and bought an original Xbox and all 4 Ultramix games.

I don't know whether I should love or hate this decision.

I went to the arcade and played real AC DDR for the first time in over 8 months! Unfortunately I played on a DDR X US machine and a DDR Extreme machine with a horribly distorted monitor. There was also a Supernova 2 machine there but the speakers were so bad I didn't even touch it.
