Anyway, back on topic. What darknight06 said is so so true. After all the screw ups Konami has had with their poor cabinets and poor marketing decisions, it has pretty much turned a lot of arcade operators away from investing any additional money in DDR. It's sad to see because they are making such dumb mistakes that only require a bit more thought to fix. And many of those same mistakes keep repeating themselves each release.

Well I have spoken to the Australian importer for Konami today, i asked a few questions and here are the answers.

Is X3 coming to Australia anytime soon?
Yes, it will be available in 2 weeks once cleared from customs.

Will it be a Japanese version or a US version?
No, All arcades that order X3 will have Japanese versions with in Australia

Will we be getting any Dedicabs?, If so will they be japanese or US dedicabs?
No, DDR has had its day in Australian arcades, And for the price of the new machine over an upgrade kit it is just not worth bringing the Dedicabs here.
As far as US Betsons cabs go, they will not set foot in Australia unless they are privately imported.

So to all the Australian players out there, expect to see the upgrade kits hitting arcades soon.

Their choice of words makes it seem like Australia doesn't like Betson so much.

Although, MY GROOVE RADAR ratings have never seemed that accurate.
But I'm sure a new boss will take that place, and now that the barrier of 19 has been broken by two songs, I am sure we will see more.

One of the reasons why Australia will get X3 is the proximity to Japan, so, its more cheaper buy it from JP than US.
Other of the reasons is costs, so, upgrade kits is pretty good option instead of full new dedicab. Also, some parts are exchangeable between versions, so, you can do some crazy stuff like that.

No, Konami has not allowed E-amuse to be activated in Australia, none of the Bemani games here have access to E-amuse.

The cost of an upgrade kit in Australia is not as cheap as you think, arouns $4500,, In the US it is about $2500 usually (depends on the distributor), Australia pays alot more for things than the US, best example MW3 is $119.99 as a new release price. in america something like $69.99.

In most cases Australia has old Korean Cabs rather than Japanese, so swapping out parts can still be tricky, different wiring.

Australia has a couple of X's and X2's from what I hear, not sure if there's dedis or not but I imagine there's at least one DDR X dedicab there.
I've also had conflicting reports that there's a couple of ITG dedis, though others have said there's only upgrades.

There's a few non-chain arcades over there, but the main player is TimeZone, just as here.

They're sort of in a slightly better than us but still crap boat, as in aussie vs nz. As I continually rant about, OUR newest mix is one supernova 2.

Though apparently my friend's been asked to work with NZ's biggest arcade in updating their games and stuff, though he's not allowed to say much he did mention a possible X coming.

There are a few DDR X AND X2 upgrades here in Victoria, but only one dedicab which is a timezone import they had it sent over from Indonesia apparently.

Most of the X upgrades don't even have e-amuse slots

Still DDR extreme outnumbers DDR X he'll I think there are only about 4 supernova in Victoria now

I wouldn't be surprised if it was because of London Evolved Ver A. On in DDR II, the Voltage meter is maxed, more so than other boss songs. I specifically say A because of the "bag" slowdown (43BPM I think is a new low?) that only exists in A. IMHO, Ver A is the hardest of the London Evolves and should be a 15 and a 16 at least for ver A.

That's weird. I found it the easiest of the 3, and the slowdown - or rather the last 15 steps of it - were all that made that version hard at all. IMHO: A < B < C. Version C has way more/faster steps toward the end.
