or did they stop those at 3?
And no, there already is a song named DDR, it could be Hottest Party 4

Naming it Hottest Party 4 would just confuse people. It doesn't matter if the names are the same. After all, Hottest Party 1&2 both had a song called "Call On Me".

There's no reason not to call the song Hottest Party 4 for the sake of continuity. No matter what the game was marketed as in America, it was called Hottest Party 4 in most of the world, and all of the in-game assets (even in the US version) refer to it as Hottest Party 4.

And UM3 had two songs called "Come With Me".

Let us not forget Fantasy and Fantasy, and the game that had 2 eurobeat songs both called Sky High.

This is pretty terrific. No Super Driver yet... but! Both jubeat knit append unlocks?! Sold twice over. I don't think I have to worry about regetting reserving this one.

But now I'm left wondering, if there IS going to be the Challenge difficulty it kinda means that there are going to be Shock Arrows too. Not sure how I feel about that...

Dear god, no shock arrows if there is a challenge mode! oAo; I hate shock arrows!

OH! If there is going to be a challenge mode, no "you only get four mistakes" thing! It's bad enough I have to do a hard song, I only get to mess up a certain number of times? D8; I mean, the thing didn't give you a chance back even if you didn't mess up again from then on out. OTL I hope none of that and no shock arrows are there if there is a challenge mode...

@AeronPeryton
What's wrong with including Shock Arrow charts? You don't have to play the chart if you don't want to, so I see no downside.

@Fairy Red
Challenge difficulty is not the same as Challenging mode.
The former is a difficulty higher than Expert, represented by Challenge. The latter is another mode, like Course Mode.

Shock arrows, well... hopefully they won't ruin the good songs. Also, agree but disagree on the battery thing. A risky mod would be nice for regular gameplay instead of courses only. I've always thought it was weird that the only way to use a battery life bar was by playing an Oni course. Maybe that'll change this time around.

Is this a big deal on home versions? Thats the place to practice. I'll admit oni mode turned me off in the arcades, but home versions make it easy to get better at it since its "free" to try again (it just costs you the price of a console game). Also, most home versions have a few easy courses to get you into it, like DDRMax2 7th Mix (the import Max2) had a BeForU course that was something like love <3 shine, eversnow, breakdown, candy <3 and dive into the night all on standard, and even the arcade version had nearly=130 where all the songs were around 130 BPM, and it was long train runnin' standard, so fabulous so fierce standard, look at us standard, higher oni, spin the disc heavy.

There are plenty of beginner courses to be found in each mix, and intermediate courses to work on as you get better before the advanced and impossible courses. Give it a shot and practice it before you completely write it off, its actually a lot of fun.

Jam Jam Reggae come from Jamaica, fi di future in our love uh...

And more on the topic of DDR II, I was almost expecting this to happen when -a- Jason Derulo song was announced. Sky is the Limit and Sky is the Limit would have been funny (at least as funny as anything caused by that talentless hack known as Derulo. I'm still amazed that Konami picked the least reprehensible song of his to use, really)

I have to say that this is the first time I had been very happy with the song list in a US CS DDR game (lots of initials there lol) since DDRMAX US for the PS2. I just wish Konami did this years ago. But better late than never I suppose, right?

X2 AC max unlock code has been released, timing could relate to this game.

"Let's get this movin'"
Some things close to DDR II release.

Altough the latest images says about the use of the AC score; what about the foot ratings? will be X-rated? (valkyrie dimension is there, so; i can ensure the X-rate)

Curiously, the game is highly similar with the X CS release and AC counterpart, for the use of similar backgrounds. Kinda less graphic-intense (Thanks, wii)

Will be "Lesson by Dj" be there? Laughing Out Loud

Will be Internet Ranking present? (me wanna this feature)

Will be Edit mode compatible with X cabinets? (Wii has USB/SD ports. Why not?)

This will be the best DDR Game in years and one of the best for Wii. Good job, Konami!

By the way, where's my present?

For a second i would have thought that the MAX unlock code would have never come this year for DDR X2 US AC and that DDR II would come out before the MAX unlock code came...

....guess i was wrong Tongue

It would only make sense for them to have the X-ratings, because if challenge mode is in there, we'd just see way too many of ratings like, "Possession: 5/7/9/10/10, Anti-Matter: 5/7/9/10/10, MEI: 2/5/8/10/10, and of course my weird theory that Valkyrie Dimension: 7/10/10/10/10, purely out of hype." (Yes, I know that Basic is NOT a 10, and that Difficult barely qualifies for a 10.)

Konami used to overrate the easier difficulties of boss songs, like Fascination Maxx. I had to rerate them in Stepmania because of that. So if they used the 1-10 scale, they probably would do that just for fun. Big Grin

"MAGGLE"
I liked how they underrated some of the SN2 boss songs. They rated some of the "easily the best song to crunch your legs and bruise your midsection to" boss songs as nine-footers on Heavy, as they allow other ten-footer Heavy songs like Legend of Max, Healing-D-Vision, Max 300 SMM-Mix and of course, Fascination Maxx, to continue grinding bones.

But then again, that was the game that had such misguided foot ratings as a whole.

Thank you so much, Lord Toon!

I can't stand all the misratings in SuperNOVA 2. That's why I want the X-scale to be used so badly on this game.

I have a feeling that the people responsible for SN2 were either just trolling or kinda dumb.
"CaptivAte? It sounds like it could have the word 'eight' in it, LET'S MAKE IT AN EIGHT!"

Back on topic, though, I was originally dreading the Justin Beiber and Miley Cyrus songs until I searched them... holy crap, I can actually see myself playing Somebody to Love and Can't Be Tamed O__O

Don't worry, I washed my ears out with Shiny World and All My Love and such afterwards. Tongue
My point was, though, that Konami actually chose good licenses for a change. I mean, while some of them made me want to vomit, I heard certain songs that can (1) actually have good charts, (2) not sound like something that a popular artist decided to crap out one day, and (3) can net some casual players.
