For those wondering about X3 in the US/EU, BMS went to the IAAPA recently and had a talk with the Konami reps there, and they DID mention that X3 will not be seeing a release in America as well as Europe, but not in the way you think about it...

Quote: Bemanistyle's wrap-up of IAAPA 2011
Their latest arcade release DanceDanceRevolution X2 has had a very shaky start. We’ve been able to work briefly with Konami’s arcade team before the initial launch of X2, but as we have seen our time testing it was not nearly long enough and dance stages have not lived up in longevity to their first impressions. Sales of the game in the American and European markets have prompted Konami to step back and reevaluate the series’ future in these markets. Unfortunately this means a decision has been made by Konami of Japan to postpone the series in the American and European markets for the time being. This does not mean that Konami has completely abandoned the series in these markets as we have heard rumors that a major companywide evaluation of each division of Konami’s markets will be taking place in Japan next month that may decide the future of the series overseas, possibly even stepping away from Betson and moving towards distribution through Konami’s own casino gaming division.

There you have it folks, we won't be seeing X3 vs. 2ndMIX until we get word from KoJ about what they want to do for distribution overseas for their DDR arcades. All anyone of us can do now is watch the game get fully unlocked in Japan and wait for DDR III/the next DDR CS version...if even THAT is coming out sometime next year.

while Japan is in X6 :v

I kind of hope that if things settle and they do find a good way of distributing good quality arcade cabs to the US and EU that they slow down the DDR AC releases in Japan so that the US and EU would catch up for a bit, but we all know THAT just can't happen...

....unless they give Japan IIDX 20 CS with IIDX 17, 18, and 19 songs. That'll keep them busy for about a year :3

So we'll likely skip this mix. Or worse than that, fall a mix or two behind.

Firstly, told you so.

Secondly, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much about that reevaluation thing as it is just a rumor. There are a few things on the horizon that may give us some hope though.

I say it's the right decision. There's no use releasing these games when they're crippled and unplayable, and they need to take a good look at their process and why the games haven't been successful.

We pretty much experienced X2 through Asia for a year anyway.

With this news, I think it's safe to say that Asian eamuse offline machines won't get unlock codes from now on.

EDIT: Until the End EDP

If this question was asked already, sorry for re-posting. What are the conditions this time for the songs "Crazy {Heart} love", "Amalgamation", and "Unbelievable [Sparky remix]" to appear temporarily on Final stage, Extra stage, and Encore extra stage, respectively? Laughing Out Loud

Um actually yes I do. I don't play songs on pad on CS versions due to the fact that my bundled pads suck balls and the fact that I prefer playing on the AC versions over the CS versions. You're also forgetting the crap load of songs that are on the AC versions...

Seems relatively stupid to buy a whole new machine...for a bit of new songs you'll ENJOY to play.
Note: ENJOY

You should be begging for an upgrade instead. Roll Eyes

So, your saying I should just spend a few grand on a bundle of PC components to not play a game?
Remember, you have to buy the cabinet in order to play on it. That means spending at least $10K for a used cabinet (unless I get an extremely amazing deal) + the upgrade kit. After spending that much money I might as well buy a new cabinet. And last time I checked, upgrade kits aren't perfect especially if I were dealing with an EU upgrade kit.

I'm saying - if you are one of the lucky bunch in America to have an X2 JP, an upgrade doesn't sound like a bad idea. Roll EyesRoll EyesRoll EyesRoll Eyes

But you probably aren't, so sucks for you.

Yeah if I were them which of course I'm not, along with many other arcade operatives. Besides those that have an X2 JP cab are running a JP system for a reason, getting the e-Amuse unlocks which you can't do on the US/EU versions. No, sane operator will run an imported JP cabinet with it's extra importing costs just to install a lesser version of a game. The people that have Japanese cabinets obviously know what they have and where to get proper software.

Lol totally had this debate with someone one FB. New import cab or other. If you don't have a cabinet to begin with, import it. XD Well crossing fingers and praying some good news happens. If not we totally skipped X2. Don't care if we get a base X3. If you do have X2 US... Man I would feel totally gypped.
