Well it's aimed at beginners as already said, so just don't pick it and you won't be wasting your credits.
Newer players may end up wasting their own credits if they pick standard mode and accidently choose a song that they won't be able to pass. That's why it's limited to beginner-friendly songs.
Things like Happy Mode are always a good idea in Bemani games

So i am at japan expo with iphone. Ddr x2 work. I have stepchart for second heaven , dazzlin darlin and if u were here from jennifer (revival) . coz of Tourney i cant see the songlist but i remember dam dariram, smooch, super driver from aya hirano , a song from novasonic(not sure), fumikan candy and some that atamax posted. I'll try my best to capture the songlist. I saw happy mode too. U have all song with beginner and light only.

So i have the default DDRX2 songlist AC (with the lvl of the song). About the cab, it's the same as last year. You know Maxx Storm ? Best player i have ever seen. With this cab, always double AA or triple AAA. Only one defeat. He defeated all top five of France , Belgium and Switzerland (except one) and he was alone !

Definitely an improvement, though more like an 11 now (I hear they changed it to an 11 though). It's a little too bad some of the harder parts that did make sense were removed, but overall it's much better now.

And it seems like the announcer is much less frequent? I certainly hope so!

Awesome stage and background, but I'm really disappointed they took an interesting chart with crappy step placement and turned it into an extremely boring chart with decent step placement. Sigh, KONAMI. It's like they didn't know why the original chart was bad, and they decided it was the difficulty that was the issue.

Steps are so much better than the first ones, but I kinda miss the hard and technical stuff.

I am happy and sad at the same time.

Wow, neat, so they did re-edit it but basically used the exact same stepchart with added freezes. Not a bad thing, this also means HERO will likely be the CS X (NTSC) one.

Pie noticed that we can see Feel Good Inc., DAFT PUNK IS PLAYING AT MY HOUSE, and Bonafied Lovin' in the song list too.

I also noticed something strange...

The songlist seems A LOT smaller than it should be. I don't know how big the license list is, but the KO list consists of A Brighter Day, Shine, (One of the new KOs I don't recognize), Heatstroke, Sacred Oath, and You are a Star. That's a LOT less than it should be, to the tune of over 10 songs that were available on the last X2 location test in Japan.

Maybe they want the players to focus on the new songs that are new to the public.
