Well of course it's gonna be all over the media because it JUST HAPPENED YESTERDAY. It's not like it's been a month since then. It was the same with the Connecticut shooting. In a week or so it'll die down a little. But it'll always happen so get used to it.
I'm sorry but that was a little insensitive of you to say.

No, insensitive would be me openly making jokes about the whole situation and treating it lightly, which I could easily do, but I have a heart, im admittedly not that much of a cunt (really), and honestly I find the whole situation sickening. I didnt say I dont care or anything, hell, my cousin and her friend went there to see the marathon and were 2 blocks away from the first blast, so until I got word from them, I had no idea if they were alive or dead or whatever, which was driving me nuts and I almost had a panic attack during that time. I'd go on more about this, but i'm sure this will just be disregarded as rambling anyway.

I just think with all this going on, people tend to forget that stuff like this happens quite around the world, and because of that, 'we' tend to just talk about bombings like this that happen outside this country (well, news-wise anyway) and then we move on, but the moment something like this happens here in the US, as The Joker coined it:
'Well everyone just loses their minds!'
It's basically a rarity to see this kind of stuff happening here in our soil, even though the media talks about bombings here and shootings there, it's not HERE. Because it's HERE, of course we are going to hear about this for weeks, right up until the person/group/whomever form of chaos and mass confusion created this is pretty much put to justice, which if they were either from this country or somewhere else, it's pretty much the death penalty. Also, I don't think this was an 'act of terror' as most everyone is claiming it is, as Mokou said, the recipe for making a bomb is actually not that hard to find, especially the type of bomb that was recovered, I honestly think this was not the cause of an extremist group or the usual 'terrorist', I really think it was just some deranged lunatic who was actually smart enough to plant devices in a crowded area that most nobody would have thought to be vulnerable.
To Ayumi, if you don't want to hear about it, tough luck, it's going to be playing almost everywhere that is news, or simply anyone who still wants to keep the info running from this, whether it's already been posted millions of times or not. I'm just ignoring most of what my friends/friends if friends post about the incident unless it's something new or interesting about the planning or the guy/group/android responsible. I understand it's everywhere, but that's how this country reacts to the littlelest of incidents that happen, even though some people just don't seem to realize stuff like this can happen anywhere in the world, not just here. We just have to move on with our lives, and if there is somethng we can physically do to help the victims, then by all means do it, but other than that just tune it out if it's bothering you that much.
To DDRPheonix, we know it's a sad situation, we know it sucks that 3 people died (including the 8 year old) and more than 140 people were injured, Colombia's still in a civil war with quite a lot of people being captured, tortured, and killed even though no one reports about that, and you know, we got bombings regularly in the Middle East because of many factors and wars and oil and other junk. This is what our world is like, yes it's ok to be sad about these happenings, but if you are going to be sad over this incident, then what about the other horrific things that happen pretty much on a daily basis around the world that are actually far WORSE than what happened yesterday? If you really feel bad about the incident, then help out anyway you can, but when you call someone 'insensitive' over what happened, think about the many natural disasters and human-made disasters that occur every now and then. Are we insensitive for not caring about the poor, innocent people outside of this country that had/have to endure this pretty daily? Are we insensitive for not caring about our own people? Are we just generally insensitive because we just din't care about anyone but ourselves?
Just...move on. That's about it from my end.
TL;DR Max becomes a dirty, stinky hippie and talks world peace while hugging trees and smoking mary jay.

@Max: Perhaps more worse things happen elsewhere, but regardless, tragedies that strike closer to home will always leave a heavier impact. Why? Simply because our lives are situated near it. We see the land we live in as a safe haven of a sort and events like this make us question that safety. These events leave a momentary crack in our blissful ignorance where we realize things aren't always so nice. The crack eventually mends and then life continues as it was.
The above is more of a general statement than anything else, though. I don't particularly share all of it.

Continuing the trend of explosions, A fertilizer plant just exploded in West, Texas

-5-15 casualties is the latest estimate given. It is known that several firefighters were lost and several others are injured.
-The injury count is estimated to be 160 as of 9 AM EST.
Seems like it's finally under control for the most part, no risk of another explosion in the area.

My Firebending kinda got me in trouble at work today. I went to Production to see if my coworker needed any help and I was there watching him torch the wrap vinyl on one of the cars and I guess I focused my eyes too much on the area he was torching and it ignited a bit burning the vinyl and leaving some small burn marks. He gave me such a fearful glance that I quietly went back to my workstation.
True story. :x
