The framerate just goes to hell if it tries to display a high resolution video, or manipulate FMV. The only game I can think of that uses fullscreen FMV is Smash Brothers 3, and that looks terrible. Most games just get around it by showing the video in a small box, and have normal elements of the game being rendered around it.
O_o FMV, as a principle, isn't necessarily processor intensive, it uses the game's engine, so in all reality, it's not any harder on the processor than normal gameplay. Showing a video "in a small box" doesn't do anything to the video being easier to render. The Wii is more than capable of producing high quality video, especially during a "processor intensive" game like DDR. I say they just reduce quality to save space on multiple platforms (the quality of Bonified Lovin on Wii is the same as it is on the arcade).
On a different note, I may be the only one showing any signs of disappointment here. Extreme 2 CS was an amazing mix because:
A) Amazing licenses list from old and new
B) Amazing revivals
C) Amazing cross overs from other DDR games (Ultramix/Festival)
D) Amazing new KO's
E) Just a ton of surprise songs and one of the best single player campaigns, even to this day.
Why this is going to be considered the best CS game out:
A) X2 ports...
That's it. No real surprise in the song list, no revivals, nothing really to make us go "omg I can't believe they did that". Don't get me wrong, I will get this game and it will be awesome, but to call it greater than Extreme 2 where Extreme 2 was an original product, this game is being called the greatest because of another game's ports. Granted, this may be the greatest CS game of all time after all, but that's got to be determined by us playing the game, not just because of the song list.

So let's analyse what non-licenses we are still missing from X2 that are not in any previous North American CS games:
BALLAD THE FEATHERS / S.S.D.FANTASICA feat.Naomi Koizumi
going up / colors
Leaving··· / SEIYA MURAI meets "eimy"
MAX LOVE / DJ YOSHITAKA feat.星野奏子
Melody Life / Noria
roppongi EVOLVED ver. D / TAG underground
☆shining☆ / Pink Turbo
WH1TE RO5E / Y&Co.
So that's all the X2 songs with Chinese versions, the new roppongi remix and two KOs.
I really wonder if that's it for Reveal 5 or something else they will surprise us with.

I never needed Extreme 2 because I have imported games from Japan (Extreme, MAX2, MAX, 5th, Extra, 4th, Best Hits), but this one is special because it brings home most of the songs from the greatest version of DDR. X2 saved the series after what the late Stillwind did on X. Konami is giving the fans what they want, bring home songs from the greatest version of DDR.

So far, we got nine different 10-footers, if you go by everything rated 15 and higher, and assuming we get challenge... It might sound like overkill, since we might get another EVOLVED (gogogo Shanghai/Seoul/London/Paris/Moscow Evolved?) and jun boss song by Wii tradition but... I say "hell yes" to overkill in this regard! :3

Okay this game's already perfect here. Definately not turning back on this game for Christmas. I also think its funny that they kept ZETA's full name on here instead instead of the shortened name.
Also I'm curious if they will put crossovers from previous games. Even though it might not happen that would be great to fill in with the over 80 songs barrier.

I think the real excitment is that as someone already mentioned, DDR in the western world is "bouncing back", after DDR X2 USA and Hottest Party 4. This is also the closest that a western DDR game has ever been to it's arcade counterpart, and that's really something that people have been clamoring for since the PSX games.
You can break it down into :
* 2 new Dancemania songs
* 2 new KO / mainstream collaborations
* A very large set of american licenses that we don't seem to care about
* The entirety of DDR X2's legacy songs
* 15 preview songs from DDR X3
It's exciting, because we're getting everything at once. You can either think of it as "DDR X2 CS with 45 new songs" or "Hottest Party 5 with the entirety of DDR X2 thrown in as a bonus". It's exciting, and given how negative the Bemani community is about new products, it's a huge breath of fresh air to see Konami throw all of their eggs into one basket, and for most of the community to get behind the decision, and support the game, instead of focusing on the silly negative things that don't matter.
... And I'm sure nobody wants to say it, but I think we're all expecting Konami Sports Life to announce something soon.

Not that bad of a first post, (Welcome to ZIv!!!!) but I think the thing that sets this apart from being an "X2 home port" is the inclusion of the e-Amuse (as of now) exclusive songs I'm so Happy and Theory of Eternity. Those crossovers being included pretty much made this an amazing release. I would have expected to wait until the next DDR title for those songs since they were "special." But I swear, if they bring the BeForU / 小坂りゆ (Kosaka Riyu) / のりあ (Noria) songs that were revived in X2 to this mix I will be one happy camper. This will pretty much be the first (Almost) AC accurate port the US/EU has ever received which means my first pre-order will be the best ever. I wouldn't be surprised if they even gave us some of the X2 licenses that we don't already have at this point since they literally MAXED the DVD gold master out. I still wonder if this game is on a Dual Layer disc or not.

That would actually... suck but as long as I'm not forced to play Justine Bieber it's alright with me.

That......would be the biggest bitchslap in DDR history
aside from DDR PS3 of course.
On another note, I DO hope this game includes doubles play AND edit mode
I'm practicing doubles & no Edit Mode is ALMOST unacceptable

DDR SuperNOVA with memory card access AS STATED IN THE FREAKING CS MANUAL? No? Oh, well then.
Doubles play is pretty amazing to be honest. I know it seems like a waste of money to some but oh man does it give me a work out. I love it so much but I doubt I'll be enjoying it at home since I still only have one PS2 mat and the (three) Wii mats that I have are all standard Konami CS pads. I can hardly play a 7 footer (old scale) on those things without them sliding all over the place since I'm playing on carpet. The edit mode is nice and everything and I know of it's usefulness but I'm not much of an "editor" as I play just normal charts most of the time. Usually I'll play edits if they are in a song pack and I'm trying them out on say ITG or something. I do hope it's in there though so I can practice chart making and stuff.

Well, to start off with ONLY 19 songs and unlock Seventy-some-odd-number would just be cruel.
SuperNova didn't even do that. That one @ LEAST gave us SOME KOs to start us off with.

Except, this is exactly what Extreme 2 did. You got 24 licenses + 1 KO. You had to unlock everything else.

Of course not, you can wait for DDR III to come out and use it's Full game unlock system!http://www.dealextreme.com/p/playstation-2-ps2-to-wii-ngc-gamecube-controller-adapter-21329
Ordering two of these, probably won't be here before the game but will give a shot.

Has anyone tried those adapters yet? I think I might get a new PS2 mat, since I got a PS2 at my house, with all 9 good dance games for that system, but my mom has a Wii up at her house, so I'm thinking I might just have her get the Wii bundle pack, and bring my PS2 mat up there for 2 player, so me and my little sister can play at the same time.

Those adapters might be worth a shot since they are only $4 with free shipping...
I wish we knew if we were going to have a "master" mode or the hp equivlent. While i know some people prefer just playing songs, I prefer to play missions. I feel more accomplished when I work my butt off to unlock stuff instead of just playing songs.

None of the CS releases give you only licenses from the start.
Extreme gave you some revivals and other KO's like PARANOiA ETERNAL
Extreme 2 came closest to having only licenses from the start, as it had only 1 default KO.
SuperNOVA gave you quite a few KOs
SuperNOVA 2 grouped some KOs in with the default licenses
X had a whole bunch of default KOs
X2 had all the revivals plus a few new KOs to start off with its rather small assortment of licenses
and DDR 2010 starts you with KOs as well, mostly the ones that aren't that good.
Post #2020 · Posted at 2011-10-01 09:02:03pm 14.3 years ago
For the unlock system I think we'll get 10 Konami Orignals, and the licenses and then we have to unlock the rest, unless we get 15 konami orignals and the licenses, cause 80 songs in one game is alot.
Or we could start with one konami orignal, and then unlock songs after one playthrough of a song. looking at HP3/DDR2010 unlocks, you only started with 2 songs and had to unlock the rest. So I'm thinking that the unlock will just be like this.
Anybody else mad that we don't have any recent gameplay videos, just pictures.
