This is what happens when you're the spelling bee champ throughout elementary school. All you do is study the words without learning the meaning. Damn it all!

I was looking through my syllabus for my current class and saw that the final exam is worth 5% of my total grade. That's awesome, but the weekly exams are worth 30% and that's not awesome. I have a 77.89 in the class so far.

I'm pissed at my grade.

You're pretty "alanganin" or "tagilid" (means conditional) as we'd like to call it. If you do pass the test, I don't think it's gonna add a lot to your grade, and the way your class might be set up (i herd u wer doing it on da web), it might be hard to try and suck up to the teacher.

I don't need to suck up to the teacher. The teacher uses expressions such as "LOL" and "" She's an easygoing teacher. She even sent me a personalized e-card!! I'll get the link from my e-mail. Hope it's still active.

kp_centi: I have Akira Yamaoka songs (IIDX and Silent Hill) and TERRA songs on my Nokia 5300. I listen to Rislim and DoLL a lot.

silenttype: You shouldn't have any problems then. I usually pass my subjects with good grades when I have a teacher with that attitude like in my Literature and HTML class (not the same teacher), I got a 1.50 which is the highest grade I have so far (1.25 on P.E. doesn't count).

It's a fun class. She sounds pretty young when we have the weekly online lectures. I just hope that she will be teaching advanced biology as that's my next class after this one.

I really miss my old teachers even those from way back in high-school. Some of them moved to my current school, some still teaching high-school students, some teaching college students, so it's fun when I meet some of them on campus.

So I left today. I could be at the May Ball, paying for over-priced, watered-down drinks in the function room of the Pride Park Football Stadium, listening to the same shitty music over and over again, with people I don't really care about.

But I didn't, and instead, I'm drinking for free in my own home, watching Dutch TV online. I like to think I'm better off here.

I don't get that grading system. Can someone explain it to me? My grading system goes in percentage, and that's the onl one that I've really gotten throughout grade 5 to now.

I think it goes like this...

F 0.00
D- 0.25
D 0.50
D+ 0.75
C- 1.00
C 1.25
C+ 1.50
B- 1.75
B 2.00
B+ 2.25
A- 2.50
A 2.75
A+ 3.00

But that's a theory.

I think it's a type of "GPA" grading. My school uses GPA for honor roll but doesn't calculate averages like that.

For example, here's the GPA grade points for my school:

A+ (95-100) = 4.5
A (90-94) = 4.0
B+ (85-89) = 3.5
B (80-84) = 3.0
C+ (75-79) = 2.5
C (70-74) = 2.0
D (65-69) = 1.0
*F+ (50-64) = 0.0
F (0-49) = 0

There is no D+.
*F+ means if you get it as a final grade in any course, you're eligible to make it up in summer school. If it's an F, you have to retake it the next year.

So I'm guessing his General Physics 1 (for IT) grade would be somewhere between C- and C, or 72-75?
