Valkyrie dimension? 888? Really? I don't want be "that guy" but isn't this a little too hardcore for the Wii crowd? Don't get me wrong people, I like the song list in this version & I an really consider getting a Wii solely for this game, But how the hell can you do those songs on a plastic mat? I take it that you can use the Wii Classic Controller right?//

And also, I'm really, really, really am looking forward to this release...This could be one of the best Console Versions to date!//

They could always save some of those songs for release on a future DDR.
How long did it take us to get most of the Extreme songs? Until SuperNOVA 2.
I think the last reveal will be more brand new songs

Guitar Hero and Rock Band 2 and 3 had about 80 songs a piece and didn't need a dual layer disc. I seriously doubt this would need that as most of the songs aren't even full length.
I haven't seen many games take advantage of the dual layer DVD, so it could be very likely they stuck to a regular DVD. The only games I'm aware of that used a dual layer disc are Super Smash Bros Brawl and the Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Speaking of full length songs, since Pierce the Sky is in the game, I wonder if they'll include the full version as well. That'd be pretty cool and how it's been going so far, actually sounds possible.

@Lord Toon: i had modded softpads for a long time and I was able to pass all of the ITG 12s on it with no issues. I will be taping the soft pad to my dead flux until I can order a new one. It's really not that bad.

DANG. I want to buy a Wii now.

This will be easy to find in our area when it's released.

Oh, yeah, the last reveal could be all long versions. That would be a crappy final hurrah, but honestly, this game doesn't need anything else.

Considering this has basically just been all X2 stuff so far, the reveal wasn't much of a shocker.

But w00t w00t for Theory of Eternity. :3

"Well."
Well hurray for me, I get the arcade experience at home! D8 No more trips to the local mall for me. Yay X2 songs, all I'm concerned about still is characters. >n>

Anyone thinks that this game gonna be on a double layer - dvd?

It's single-layer. The Wii can't display full-screen video, so all the videos are a lower resolution than the PS2 games.

The "Wii crowd" is meant to be us. Konami said that the Wii would be the primary platform for DDR games, and they seem serious about that. 888 probably isn't playable with the pack-in mat, but it's more than passable with some of the better 3rd party Gamecube pads.

This is pretty terrific. No Super Driver yet... but! Both jubeat knit append unlocks?! Sold twice over. I don't think I have to worry about regetting reserving this one.

But now I'm left wondering, if there IS going to be the Challenge difficulty it kinda means that there are going to be Shock Arrows too. Not sure how I feel about that...

smoooooch Challenge.
Mull that over for a little while and then tell me how you feel about shock arrows. Besides, I don't think there are any other songs that have terribad shock-arrow placement (or shock arrows at all) that have already been revealed, so having AIDS-caliber charts with shock arrows doesn't seem very likely.

smoooooch Challenge.

...Is probably Konami's best effort to date with Shock Arrows. But that doesn't make it a good chart.

Shock Arrows are not exactly an inspired addition to DDR. Maybe they'd fit in better surrounded by all the other Wii gimmicks though, we'd have to see.

Uh what? I don't see why the Wii can't display the same resolution of video that PS2 can, since even GameCube was more powerful than PS2 in real games...

But if we're talking about why DDR II won't have "fullscreen" video, it's because 80 game-size songs + 20-30 long songs + videos for almost everything + [other] = a lot of data.

The point is that Konami could use Mines Shock Arrows so much better than they do.

Smooch Oni is probably the best use of an Oni chart since DDR Extreme. It's much more fun than the Expert.

The framerate just goes to hell if it tries to display a high resolution video, or manipulate FMV. The only game I can think of that uses fullscreen FMV is Smash Brothers 3, and that looks terrible. Most games just get around it by showing the video in a small box, and have normal elements of the game being rendered around it.
