I can clear R&P and don't find what's so special. I always found it overrated. :T Meanwhile most of MAX 300's chart is almost permanently engraved in my mind. That's not so good though, it shows how stale MAX 300 chart is compared to R&P. Oh well, I already voted for MAX 300.

It's synchronized in the same way that FAXX is; It has the correct BPM and all, but it just throws a bunch of nonsensical arrows just to be hard. I made a quick edit up, probably crappy, but shows what I mean clearly. (I apologize for awful quality, I'm too lazy to fix up my recording settings for stepmania)

the arrows don't seem nonsensical to me, in the heavy chart i can't really see a rhythm that's out of place except maybe twice after the freeze arrows

besides charts that follow the songs rhythm aren't actually as fun as charts that create their own rhythm that still flows with the song imo

Although I didn't hear all those arrows in the music, I thought they made sense! Of course, I wouldn't have written the chart like that, but maybe "creative" rhythms can be fun too, you know? Oh yeah, Quickman beat me to it.

In certain situations it's ok to put arrows when there's no sound cue for them to really go anywhere; if it helps the chart maintain flow then it's a welcome addition. Boss songs, especially fast ones, usually get away with it since ideally you want the player to always be moving, as much as possible. MAX 300 is honestly the best example, since it's such an intense song, without those extra notes helping to guide the chart along it feels empty. Suddenly it's not nearly as intense and feels like wasted potential.

Yep! R&P has won...the first wildcard round!

Out first themed round will start tonight! Now's the time to submit any chart from 1st or 2nd mix! (They have short song lists, so I'm combining them.)

Once again, it can be any difficulty, and any song that isn't already in the bracket. You can't choose that chart anyway so it doesn't matter!

Also, each mix is based on the Japanese arcade version of that game unless otherwise noted, and it must be a new chart/song at the time of the game's release. For example, MAX 300 cannot be nominated during the "EXTREME" nominations, regardless of whether it wins or not.
