Keeping with my norm for simfile contests and whatnot, I play each chart besides the beginner charts on pad to get a good feel for each file. This week was, uh, 137 charts if you're interested (Can't say I missed leg day!). There were a good amount of doublesteps in some files, make sure you check patterns and recognize what looks pad-friendly and what doesn't, cause I can tell you right now some of these were down right cruel. Unintentional for sure, but they can cripple an otherwise solid file.

I'm glad I remembered I was working on Northern Lights, because otherwise I'm not sure what I would have entered for this week. But anyway, Northern Lights is a very upbeat song with lots of broken rhythms in places. There are plenty of short slowdowns and stops scattered throughout. The Expert chart is a solid 8, with not much in the way of quick 16ths. The Challenge chart, however, is much harder and has plenty of 16ths all over.
