IMO copy+paste works just fine if done well, but I did employ some "mirror" methods here too (both in the DDR sense of the word and in the actual sense of the word). Also, I prefer the X-scale for the reasons you described.

Back to Love - Normally, I would approve of charts like this, but in the context of this song, I don't really think that much complexity is necessary here. Listening to the song by itself, I couldn't imagine the
chart being any higher than a 6. The only chart I really liked was 
, since it was the only chart that was interesting and didn't completely follow the vocals.
Crystallized - Are all those wide transitions in
really necessary? I'll give you credit for trying to bring step variety into this song, although I don't see myself dancing to it and the steps don't really help either. The song choice took away the fun for me from the very beginning.
Garakuta Doll Play - I have no idea what to say about this song, really. Nothing about it screams anything exciting or fun to me.
Hypersonik - This song has been in my WIP folder for some time now, although it hasn't really been on top of my priority list and so progress has been pretty slow for me. I was actually looking forward to this song the most, although I felt disappointed in the end more than anything. The charts are still decent and interesting overall, but most of the time, the fun factor wasn't really there for me. Personally, I feel like I can make better charts for this song given enough time, but obvious bias is obvious.
MAD HEAD LOVE - IMO best and most fun simfile this round, without a doubt. and 
are absolutely flawless. might have went a little overboard with the pad transitions, I think, especially at 212 BPM, but the chart's still awesome regardless.
The Sealer ～ア・ミリアとミリアの民～ - The song and graphics are just asking for flow and grace in the steps, and for the most part, the charts delivered that well. Some of the quick pad transitions in might have broken the flow a little, I think, but not too much. I would also appreciate it if you changed the time signature to match the song as well, but that's just a small gripe of mine.
Tricky Disco - and are pretty fun, not so much. Why bother with rolls when you just replaced them with normal jacks in the charts? The chart is much better, although I feel like there is more room for improvement and experimentation here as well.

i was doing it on 3.9 so changing time signatures is out of my reach (i believe it was supported with the .sm file format? since IIRC SM4 has that) but thank you for the feedback everyone!
@Spork!: it was nearing the deadline and i was too lazy to go over to photoshop because it's so slow so i just cropped the damn thing lmao

SM doesn't even support changing time signatures anymore. I don't remember which version of SM5 it was when they removed it but it's not in any recent builds.
It was a pretty pointless feature since you'd only notice it in the editor anyways.

Well, that's a bummer; I can't believe I didn't notice that until now. I have version 5.0.5 at the moment.
EDIT: Actually, I can still edit the time signature directly from the .ssc file, but .sm files don't seem to have them regardless.

Oh yeah, they totally do have to. I have SO much fun swinging back and forth for the crossovers, and the stretches are not that bad either (then again I'm 6'3" and have mainly played doubles for the last 6 years so it's what I mainly know). Oh, I totally agree. I used it in my charts this week, and just about EVERYONE else did too. I only really even noticed it in yours because the transition itself just felt really out of place and then it happened again almost immediately after. Crystallized: (DX) Remember, copy+paste+mirror is a great tool, but you should disguise it a little! Switch ups and downs, or change the patterns slightly. Lots of ambiguous jumps (L+R followed by U or D). Notes missing at beats 207.250/207.750. (DH) The triplet rhythm in beats 182-184 is slow enough to be stepped accurately and not throw off the chart.
Same as ledgam3r said, I totally did employ a mirror technique. I figure - musically it's not too different, and the pattern I used I had fun with going one direction, so why not? Yeah, it's noticible, but again, I think I saw 2/3 charts altogether done in the doubles without ANY obvious copy/paste somewhere, and I played every difficulty. I totally thought I'd switched them up a little more than I actually did, so sorry about that.If you mean the three L+R jumps in M9,11, and 13, all three of them have the arrow afterwards as an inner panel, meaning unless you're reading the song at a really high rate should be VERY easy to notice and set yourself up for. If you want, consider all three jumps to have a freeze on the outer arrow (1PL, 2PR) - that will make you face forward for the following pattern each time without any awkward stepping/placement. If you mean the jumps in the slowdown - again, they're set up to make you face forward.
The missing notes were left out intentionally to further separate it from Singles as it's own unique chart. Having the full drumroll in arrows really detracts from the rest of the patterns used imo, so even though they are technically right, it's just out of place for the rest of the chart. That being said, this recommendation is totally included in Singles

Promenade actually would have gotten points from me as well if it weren't for the scroll rate gimmicks at the end. They hurt the file a lot, which is a shame because everything else was great. It's still a good file, but if I play it again I'll be playing with a cmod.
p.s. Anyone that wants me to review their file at any point during the tournament is more than welcome to PM me and I'll get to it whenever I can.
