Well, as of X we're starting to get absolutely unacceptable loading times for song previews. Don't get that from the other consoles.
...uuuummmm last time i played Ultramix/hottest Party 2, the load times for the previews were still pretty slow to me......almost like X CS, BUT it would be nice to have a much faster time for song previews

Hey, did you guys hear that GH5 is planning on actually releasing ALL of the songs from the game when you buy it? That's crazy! I wouldn't want to get a game where i buy it and i already get what i want...wait....
...let me put it this way, i would rather like to go through the entire game, working my butt off to unlock new songs and whatever instead of just getting it the first time i turn the game on. For me, it makes the game more valuable and worth the money you had to cash out to pay for it. Plus, it would take a lesser time for you to get bored of the game instead of having a game where you go through a storyline/whatever to unlock new things...
...on the other hand, GH5 will allow you to transfer ALL of your songs from GH:WT and you can play them...

I hope DDR Vol. 1 doesn't do anything like this, sure i DO want to play the classics/new songs/whatever songs we get, but i would rather like to go through something and work my way for it than to just get it initially...
[/small rant]
GH5 is DLC compatible as far as i have read, not RB style full disc song ripping.
as for unlocking, i'm sick of it. i've been playing rhythm games for 8 years. thats a lot of DDR, IIDX, GH, and RB that i have unlocked. everything party collection and prior both US and JP i have unlocked twice because of memory card issues with my PS2. i unlocked GH2 twice because of the 360 port. i welcome not having to work for it again, but thats just me.

Oh come on! Right when you said that, I thought, what about the stupid announcers!?

Hmm... I never minded the original announcer or the one present from MAX to SuperNOVA2. Anything is better than the new one for DDR: Black Edition A.K.A. Dance Dance Revolution X.
You know something I'd love? Konami including a re-imagining of the original announcer they used up until 5thMIX. I ALWAYS loved that guy.

IMO, I think that the MAX-SN2 announcer was the best. Thomas Howard wasn't so interesting at all, while I could have a good laught to Londell's comments. The new announcer was just a retarded wanna-be gangsta.

It isn't Thomas Howard. I think we've gone over this a few quadrillion times. But yeah, Londell Hicks was cool. That guy from Ozomatli (sp) was probably drafted in to try and attract a newer, non-existant audience.

Not to mention the expenses that will go down when you've only got one sound team, graphic team, etc. etc. Sales are important, but if you can cut your expenses, you can make an even bigger profit with smaller sales. This game will not cost a lot to make, especially if a majority of the songlist is just old Konami Originals.
4 platforms with 90 songs, 10 of which would be unique, would give us a total of 120. It's cheaper, but each platform gets more songs. It's not like each will have 15 new licenses or anything.Post #189 · Posted at 2009-05-18 12:24:56am 16.1 years ago

Thomas Howard was the announcer until 5thMIX, and this Londell guy did DDRMAX to SuperNOVA 2. Thomas Howard is credited as the voice of the announcer in at least one of the game manuals and in interview if I recall. Do you have something that says otherwise?

Maybe now Konami can get some decent licenses too.

Also since it's a multi-platform release, I wonder what they're going to do about all the systems' different specs. I am going to take a guess that the PS3 and 360 will just have more shading effects and higher resolution graphics plus DLC, while the PS2 and Wii will not. I hope Konami considers adding DLC song for the Wii version. I don't see why not

Just because there's more of them, doesn't make them right.

Here's an idea...
Since DDR X AC has the ability to share edits of songs over e-amuse, why not put that function onto DDR Vol. 1 through the PSN/Xbox Live/Nintendo Wi-fi networks?
it will work just like the DDR X AC, you make the edit, put it over the network, most plays gets you to the top of the list, etc., etc.

Ultramix did just that, over Live!. That would be a very welcome additional to the series as a whole.

Software and programing issues for different consoles might be a problem though. Like how Live & PSN can;t play the same games together. But what do I know?

just because he listed all of them doesnt mean he is saying they should work cross platform. make it like GHTunes where they upload to the server but you can only download for your system.

Oops, forgot to put that on the post, but yea, just have it so that you can only upload edits to your specific network (besides, you can't connect to another systems network so cross-sharing through the networks is technically impossible/troublesome to do).
