The idea for this project is simple: I take BMS files from Beatmania IIDX 20: Tricoro and convert their charts into Stepmania's Dance format (compatible with 3.95, so no lift notes), taking minimal liberties for playability sake. The pack will be dancepad oriented with highly technical focus. SP charts only.
I'll be translating the charts in order from easiest (according to their IIDX charts' ranking) to hardest. This is because most 11/12 and some 10 IIDX charts translate directly into DDR 19s and 20s, something I don't see anyone playing this pack bothering with. They'll still be charted for completion sake, but I'll leave them for the end.
There are 95 songs total in Tricoro, each with three charts, except for a few that have an extra Beginner chart. In most cases I'll make an extra 4th note cut Novice chart plus an additional chart to fill the gaps in difficulty to have five charts per song in the end. Copypasting the quantization is something I can do within an hour or two per song, but creating step rethoric that fits the song and leads to desirable difficulty progression both within each chart and across all five charts of each song is very tedious. Assuming I could finish one song per week, it will take me two years to finish the project. It would be a lot faster if I had a person or two to help me out with the rethoric part, mostly finishing touches, but I'll gladly accept help from just about anyone who wants to contribute.
Because this is WIP for now and will stay that way for a very long time, I won't request a category on this website until I have at least all 9s fully done, and by fully I mean completely finalised versions. Instead I'll keep all WIP simfiles + a text file with song list, chart list and progress. Feel free to download what's there and give feedback.

A note about rating scale: I will use ITG's scale extended up to 20 to grade difficulty of charts. The reason for this is that over half of Tricoro's songs have 11 or 12 rated IIDX charts, which as I mentioned will lead to them getting DDR 19s and 20s. Due to their large number I want to implement a different scale that will accurately reflect the highly variable difficulty these charts are going to have. For this pack's purpose 19s will be decompressed into 15-17 range, while hypothetical 20s (charts with footspeed and/or rethoric too absurd to execute flawlessly by human body) will be decompressed into 18-20 range. 11-13 will be simply equivalent to DDR 16-18, with 14 reserved for very hard 18s and 1-10 equivalent to old DDR scale.
