Seriously, We Need More Mods

If you missed the chaos of New Years Eve, a group of pranksters purportedly from SOWS began wreaking havoc on the forums with several accounts, posting lewd content, harassing fellow users, and unleashing a prank back-written into the site to ban several prominent users, including BemaniHyper, SomethingRandom, and Quickman. None of the members who unleashed this have been so much as reprimanded and I think I know the root of the problem:

For a good while, we had 4 users with moderator powers: al2k4, Oni-91, rwr4539, and xRGTMx. The former three all hail from the UK, while xRGTMx was located in the US. This arrangement worked well, as incidents when the European mods were away or asleep were typically handled by xRGTMx. However, recently he abdicated from his position. Despite multiple recommendations to appoint at least one more mod from the area due to concerns regarding mods not being active during something like this, nobody has been added.

Today's incident showed that there is a necessity for such a person. There have been a handful of suggestions thrown about, so I've listed them here:

-Viper-
Aegis
AnonyWolf
DDR Addict (I may seem like the unreliable narrator, but there have been recommendations)
SM_MaxX
xXMokou98Xx

All those listed have been on the site for several years, have an interest in keeping the site active and healthy, and will be able to lay down the law when available and when need be.

Whoever is able to effect change, you don't necessarily have to pick from that list, but we as a community would greatly appreciate it if you'd take action to help prevent things like today's incident from spiraling so out of control, and it looks like covering more time zone bases with active mods is the more efficacious way of doing so.

With the timezone gap, it allows just enough time for time from innocent members minding their own business to be wasted by the likes of people that are all like "oh let's cause trouble on this site we don't like because haha it's funny". That and the site moderation feels like it's super thin. Oni-91 is the only one I can think of that actually does his job as a moderator.

I've been on this site the longest out of anyone in the list. Just saying

Tried to "derail" every thread he deemed "silly" today by "shitposting" pictures of anime girls in skimpy clothes. Not my best pick.

But what do I know, I haven't been active here since 2015.

That aside, I think it is important that any new moderators be someone who is impartial towards all users/types of users.

I'm currently a mod for OKCupid.com (yeah I know its a dating site and nothing to do with forums, but I figured it be a shot), so I'm pretty good at flaggin stuff. But man some of the stuff I've seen, yikes.

Except that having one or more moderator(s) sounds like a step away from anarchy, but I could be wrong. My knowledge of politics is pretty limited.

But yeah, at the least, having just one more moderator wouldn't hurt. I'm sure that's not a whole lot to ask, even from what happened.

I don't know how anything about how this place is moderated, so I have nothing to back about what else is right/wrong with here. All I can say is that having at least one new moderator sounds like a good idea for everyone, given that it's someone that does know what they're doing.
