Two noob questions

Sorry ahead of time if there's something on this already that I couldn't find, as I looked back through threads going back several years and didn't see anything in regards to my questions, plus this forum doesn't seem to have a search function.

Anyway, as my sig indicates, I created the Arcade preservation wiki. I just stumbled across a previous wiki last week where the founder did the exact same thing I did several years' before and edited/added some pages. I got a post from him referring me here, as he abandoned his wiki just after he started it, it seemed.

Unfortunately the majority of arcade information I put in (as well as received from others) in my wiki are in regards to long dead arcades. There doesn't seem to be a way to add these here/this site just seems to be in regards to still open arcades, which I can't really help with. Let me know if you can add closed arcades, but it doesn't seem to me that you can.

Also, upon going through the Games database, I see where there's a Get details button that does nothing, or at least I couldn't find any games with any details to them. There are dozens of games I could add details to that I've played over the years but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this, even when using two different computers/browsers. Is that what this function is and how am I supposed to get it to work, or is this for something else? Because at least I could do that, even if I can't add old closed arcades.

Under "Home", there is a "Search" function. You can search up Forums, Games, Pictures, Threads, Simfile Categories, Simfiles and Users.

Theoretically you can add anything here:

But keep in mind that people who search for any arcade info are looking for current information and that other users will update any outdated info. Out of curiosity, why exactly do you wish to add long dead arcades on this site?

The "Get details" button is for when you're searching up a game that someone added to the database. Select a game from the database, click that button, and you'll see that the page updates to the information regarding that game. I THOUGHT it seemed strange there was no search button! I didn't think to look under the Home page for it (obviously!).


Because I don't have a problem with passing along info when it doesn't exist. However, with you asking a question like that and probably most people on here just wanting still current arcades/info, then this probably wouldn't be the site to add in stuff like that, so I'll just leave it to preservation-type sites.

About the search thing, yes, another person brought it up in a thread as well. It's a bit hard to find, especially since the "Home" tab itself is a clickable button.
