you guys are probably going to laugh at this, but whatever. one of you guys that is awesome at making images that look professional, i need your help.
i need an image of a care bear. thats right, i said it. i want a blue one, but instead of the symbol for that particular care bear i want it to have the red ITG logo arrow(just the arrow, not the whole logo).
i would greatly appreciate it if someone could make this for me

That's actually not too unusual of a request. Nostalgia has been popular for awhile, and if Disney and DDR can fuse so well why not In The Groove and care bears?

its a bit more than nostalgia though, and more of an inside joke. since i was a kid my grandpa always called me "bear" and my mom started calling me "care bear"(because people are just to lazy to say "barry" and they cut the "y" off of the pronunciation), hell, even the guys i work with call me that just to be dicks :p one time one of them asked me which care bear i am, and i said i'm the dancing bear. i've wanted a picture of this for a while now, and to be 100% honest, if someone makes one that looks good enough its getting tattooed on me.

thats pretty much what i had in mind. i dont want to sound ungreatful or anything, but is there any chance you can do one where the arrow doesnt look so 3d compared to the 2d bear, and is angled to the right a bit more?

Well, I indexed the texture and made specific shades of red and grey for the arrow's colors to match the art style of the bear, but I can't seem make a clean cut of the 3-dimensional stuff around the arrow. I'm looking into it, though.
This is the best I could do to remove the 3-D effects, but it's still a little wonky. I don't think I'm willing to mess with photoshop anymore.

thats definitely the right idea, it looks a lot better 2d than it does 3d. i appreciate the effort, i dont know the first thing about photo shop, so i cant do it myself

So how did this work out when you showed the guys at your workplace?
Also, do you know how your friend got the edges of the arrow blurred? That technique would probably come in handy some day.

no idea. she's a photoshop goddess, i sent her the picture posted earlier with the 3d arrow and told her what i wanted and 5 minutes later she sent that back.
i'm in the air force, how do you think it went when everyone i work with saw it :p gay chicken is a pretty common thing where i work, and they told me that i'm not allowed to play any more because being gay is cheating :p i dont care though, i think my tattoo is awesome.

I really don't see how that tattoo would be considered gay. 
It's a fun game, and that's how you chose to express your dedication for it! I think it's pretty cool myself, but I'd get mauled by my parents if I ever got a tattoo, even a small one.

yeah, well, i'm 22 so my parents dont have much say so over it :p not like they would complain. my dad is tatted up and my mom has a few herself, but i didnt exactly seek permission when i got any of mine.
