Z-I-v Simfile Tournament of Immortals 5 [EVENT OVER]

It's that time of year once again ladies and gentlemen! The road to Summer Contest 2015 starts with the 5th annual Simfile Tournament of Immortals. We are bringing back both Singles and Doubles tournaments this time around. Not much has changed from last years contest as far as rules go.

What on Earth is the Tournament of Immortals?

Tournament of Immortals is a simfile making contest. The first round will be the qualifier round in where everyone will submit one file. From there you will get a seed based on how many points your simfile gets via votes. The top 16,24,32 (final number will depend on # of entries in the qualifier round) will go in a tournament style single elimination bracket. From there each member will be put in 1V1 match ups. This will go on until there's only one left standing. The winner of the singles bracket and the winner of the doubles bracket will get to host the 2015 Summer Contest! (such as picking themes for the week and so on).

RULES

1. You can NOT vote for your own song
2. ALL SONGS WILL BE PAD CHARTS. They can be DDR or ITG style.
3. Autogen steps of ANY sort will NOT be allowed.
4. Charts must be at least - charts. Any other chart like or is optional but not required.
5. You CAN enter in both Singles and Doubles brackets.
6. Banners and Backgrounds are not required, but they are recommended. Other members can help you out with graphics.
7. When submitting your simfile It needs to have the round of the song with it EXAMPLE: [Round 1 Singles] - New Decade or [Qualifier Doubles] - m1dy Deluxe (Yes this includes the -). This is so everything is organized and easy to get to.
8. You CAN submit the same song to both brackets but only submit the file once. If you do this, make sure your file is named as so. [Qualifier Singles & Doubles] - FANTASTIC THREE. (Please use &, not "and". This is so everything is organized).
9. You CAN have jackets and/or classic banners.
10. All songs must be under 2:30.
11. All songs must be under the old 1-10 DDR and/or ITG's 1-13 Rating system. This is so we don't have a mixup between DDR X 10s and ITG 10s.
12. In case on a tie, the tie will depend on how many votes the user made. (Example: if Member A voted and Member B did not, Member A will win the tie breaker) This will encourage people to vote.
13. If a tie is still present after rule #12, the tie is broken depending on who the highest seed's vote.
14. If you have to drop out from the tournament, you will automatically be DQ'd from the round you are in. This is so we don't have members leaving and coming back. Some times real life gets in the way, so if you have to drop out, then there's no shame.
15. This tournament will be Single Elimination. You can not upload a file if you are eliminated. HOWEVER you can still vote for songs.
16. Simfiles must be made for this contest, you can not use them if they have already been uploaded before.
17. Any trolling or constant violation of the rules will result in disqualification for the tournament and all files submitted by the member will be deleted.
18. 1 song per user a week. SO MAKE IT COUNT!
NEW! 19. ONLY IF FILE HAS SINGLES AND DOUBLES: You can upload a double's chart during a singles week and vice versa, or you can update the file to add the chart based on the week up for submissions.

A tip worth noting and this happens every year, if you have to rename your simfile on the site due to like a typo or you forgot to put the - in the title, you do have to reupload everything again.

VOTING

Voting system will be the same as Summer Contest but only for the qualifier round, once tournament play starts, members will vote for the better of the two files aginst each other.

2nd: 4pts
3rd: 3pts
4th: 2pts
5th: 1pts

HOW DO I ENTER?

All you have to do is post in this thread that you want in or send me a PM that you want in and I'll set you up. Please state if you are going to be in the Singles and/or Doubles bracket. You can sign up until the end of the qualifier round. Once tournament play starts, it will be too late to enter.

DATES

Entries are open RIGHT NOW! We will start the qualifier round. Everyone will get one week to vote for a file and one week to cast their votes. I'll set it up where a week where it's a voting week for singles, it will be a file week for doubles and vice versa.

Contest deadline will be Monday 5 PM UTC

2/23-3/2: Registration period
3/2-3/9: Qualifier round entries
March 16th - 23rd: Round 1 Singles and Doubles submissions
March 23rd - March 30th: Round 1 Singles voting and Round 1 Doubles submissions
March 30th - April 6th: Round 1 DOUBLES voting, Round 2 SINGLES submissions
April 6th - April 13th: Round 2 SINGLES voting, Round 2 DOUBLES submissions
April 13 - April 20th: Round 2 DOUBLES voting, Round 3 SINGLES submissions
April 20th - April 27th: Round 3 SINGLES voting, DOUBLES FINALS submissions
April 27th - May 4th: DOUBLES FINALS Voting, Round 4 Submissions
May 4th - May 11th: Round 4 voting
May 11th - May 18th: SINGLES FINALS submissions
May 18th - May 25th: SINGLES FINALS voting.

I'm pretty sure I'll fail but still I sign up for the single charts . (this to give me a meaning to continue with charts <3)

Asking advice to people. Should I try out doubles? I have never made one but I think I can handle it out...it's just...I don't know wheter to start with this or not

I've always wanted to try something like this from when I just plain lurked as a guest around the site, I'm not good at this, but I'll try singles, and with Pendual and SDVX tracks coming out soon, I'll be able to at least gain an idea on a song to do. (doubles maybe, but that'll be too much of a workload with school...)
