As the thread title says, I need some suggestions, what kind of pads would be good?

Aside from making your own, seems like most of the metal pads these days have been discontinued. DDRGame is probably your last resort, because of how inadequate they seem to be constructed when compared to the likes of a Cobalt Flux. So unless you wanna try e-bay or amazon, you don't really have much in terms of options.
I'm not 100% knowledge-able, but that's just from my own personal experience, anyway.

You could try the relatively new precision dance pads. They are a bit pricey and are not technically metal like you asked for, but I have heard good things about them....As for ddrgame pads, I have an energy metal pad. It's a pretty good pad after you do the sheet metal mod. I think it might even be better if you replaced the panels with a more flexible type of plastic (ie polycarbonate/lexan), but I never bothered since I have a machine now.

Have you considered constructing your own Homemade pad?
