Hello all, finally I've bought a 1st gen DDR arcade machine "as is" (game wont boot up) from a local arcade. It had an universal modboard and what it seems an original DDR MAX 2 CD, no cartridge though.

I've ordered a legit 700A01 chip along with an original 3rd Mix Plus and cartdridge. Everything works fine now.

I'm a big fan of DDR and I'd like to play again 4th Plus, 5th, MAX2 and EXTREME. These are discontinued but I've been told that there are hacked versions of those CDs, specifically one install and one game CD, that doesn't require cartridges, just an universal modboard or legit 700A01 chip, but so far it was impossible for me to find those cd images.

If someone could point me to the right direction it will be highly appreciated!! I'd really like to play again those mixes but infortunately these machines are almost extinct by now.

Thanks in advance!
Roy.

"Give me a steady beat."
I think I can say with confidence that you won't find any of that here on this site. ZIv deals mainly with the simulation of dance games.

There seems to be only one place on the internet where you can get them, and it's protected with fort knox level security to avoid legal issues. I've been trying to get in for months so I could get a few of the 12 local Extreme machines downgraded.

The alternative is buying ChannelBeat's overpriced bootlegs, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Hope this isn't against the rules, but thought I'd ask...

Is there a way to make a hacked "5th Mix" (2-disc kind) that's for a Solo Machine into one that works/installs on a Doubles Machine?
There's a readme that says:
"Jamma input has been remapped to match DDR solo machine wiring.
StagePCB checks and security cassette checks have also been removed. This should boot with a legit boot room as well.
Please do not run on a doubles machine as the select buttons will no longer function correctly."

Would you just need to give the installer a new psx.exe from another hacked mix or would something else need to be done?
Or is this a pipe dream...? (I really wanna play 5th Mix again.)

The reason why you have never been invited and never will be is because you want to downgrade machines at businesses. We don't like that, especially since its against the wishes of the hackers that did all the work, but more so because its not your damn machine in the first place.

I REALLY hope you didn't buy a used set. It won't boot on another machine unless the security cassette was originally married to your 573. Once a kit has been installed onto one machine, in can not be installed onto another.

You will not be able to get the functionality of the solo kit to a doubles kit. I am sure you are not familiar enough with editing data to be able to make this happen and are probably not familiar with the different Jamma pinouts for Solo and Doubles mixes.

Yeah, not a clue.

Was worth a shot to ask. Confused
