Is there a way to import edit data from DDR X (US) and upload it here?
Post #2 · Posted at 2012-12-03 12:22:56pm 12.9 years ago
None that I know of, but you could always copy the edits by sight using stepmania's editor. To upload simfiles on this site, you need 50 points, then you can go ask the admin (Al) for a simfile catagory.
And by the way, welcome to Zenius -I- Vanisher!

Unless you buy a ridiculous device that somehow allows you to convert the save data from your PS2 into .sm data (and if you can FIND it out there on the internet), you're going to have to redo your edits in Stepmania. But it shouldn't be too hard since it's pretty much the same deal, except BETTER ON PC than on a PS2 controller with added gizmos and tricks and step magic. Or actually, depends on your taste of editing step charts and fiddle-dee-dum.
Love the PSN name by the way. Welcome to Ziv.

....that's a question I am not prepared to answer since Stepmania should work on most if not ALL computers.Have you tried downloading Stepmania 5? Or maybe SM v3.95?
I mean...hell my laptop can run SM3.9 and beyond.
Better question, what error does it give you when you try to run it/download it/make the computer do things?

What operating system do you use? If it is Windows 2000 or above, you should update some drivers or maybe get the computer checked.
If this is Mac we are speaking of though, I have no clue other than maybe you downloaded the wrong version.

I had XP and it still worked...Would you be able to specify the actual problem? Like, what the name of the error is so we could help you even more more more?

The error didn't have a name, I think it said it had something to do with the program files. The computer is extremely old and probably needs to be replaced

If it says something about "missing mscvs70.dll," it's an easy fix. Does that sound right?

No
Here is exactly what it says: Installation aborted
Setup was not successful completed
Can't write: C:\Program Files\Stepmania 5\Announcers\Instructions.txt

Though this may not be a good idea, but try to delete that file. Then it should install with no problems.

I tried something else and there was a "Fatal error during install".

Is your hard drive almost full? I will post more later, or get you a version of it unzipped

Does it happen when you install SM5 or run it? I remember one of the versions of SM5 always had a fatal error when installing, but you can still run it where it was installed.

Have you tried to find a Stepmania.zip?
Get somebody to zip up the game for you, and see if you can run it.
