DDR Doubles World Record Attempt: 11/23 - 11/24

I will be attempting to set the rhythm game marathon world record to 40 hours on DDR X2 for doubles play. Online stream will be available. The event will occur from 5AM 11/23 to 9PM 11/24 EST. The stream will be aired @ http://www.twitchtv.com/ddrworldrecord.

I will set up another charity drive for this event to raise money for a great, local cause. I will update everyone on the event as more details come out.

Back story: Last year I attempted (and successfully) to play DanceDanceRevolution for a full 40 hour marathon. The rules were to play on the lowest available difficulty setting for the first 5 hours. After each 5 hours, I had to increase the difficulty (Beginner, Basic, Difficult, Expert) until I reached Challenge, in which I would always play Challenge when it was available.

I was given a 10 minute break for each full hour completed and I could bank the time and use partial time for rest breaks. This year, I am only allotted 5 minutes per hour.

The reason the record was rejected was due to the following reasons:

-Witnesses authentication. No background of the witnesses were recorded (no profession or background to the authenticity of their judgement).

-Time lapse pictures were missing the timer.

-One video was missing the timer and rest indicator, making it look as if I was idle on the machine during the marathon for over 20 seconds.

While all technicalities, they are still valid reasons to reject the record. I will make every effort to avoid these issues this time.

Also this year I will be doing the entire record on doubles mode. Heaven help me.

Edit: Update! I thought Thanksgiving was on 11/29. This was a mistake! It's on the 22 so the attempt will be on the 23!

Dang, I can't even imagine having to go Doubles for that long.

But yeah, I'm really pumped to see you going for the record again, I was pretty upset as well when they announced the first attempt wasn't acceptable.

Thanks everyone. I'm honestly not sure if I can actually do this for 40 hours. Last time, it was a matter of mental strength. The physical aspect of this will be much more tasking since I can't just minimize my movement. Luckily, I've learned a lot of valuable lessons this time and hope they will aid me in this.

That is crazy, but I wish you the best of luck, I can't even play singles for 5 minutes without sitting down, let alone 40 hours. You sir, have legs of the gods!

I'm almost worried they will knock you off the record for doing doubles.

Any clue on what day the event is?

Sorry everyone, I corrected the first post. The event will be happening 11/23 - 11/24, NOT 11/30 - 12/1! I meant for it to coincide with the day after Thanksgiving here in the US.

I unfortunately had to miss the stream; how'd it go?

Pretty terrible. I got 10.5 hours in and failed Bonafied Lovin D-Expert. The chart had a couple of odd patterns I wasn't sure how to take (being awake since 2am and tired as it is) and I missed the first stream and struggled to remain in the song. Missed too many steps and failed. The general manager of Zuma already confirmed that he'd set everything back up to let me try again this summer.
