Well, that's a very specific and debatable question for me that doesn't have the informations.
We all know that upgrading an X1 europeen cab into X2 will make at least an other issue, the drift issue.
But that's not the point of the topic.
My question is : Did they enlarged the timing windows on this ?
I mean, they did a X2 patch for EU and USA if i remember well. But also, they didn't expected that the drift issues (and maybe some other hidden ones) will pop up.
Do anyone here, have informations about what the patch did on the X2 cabs ?
And information about the other problem that an europeen upgraded cab could have.
Especialy the timing issue, that's the main reason of my post here.
You'll maybe ask "Why do you think they enlarged the timing windows ?".
Well, i could be wrong, i could be right but i have very very suspicious scores.

Seriously, i'm decent on some songs, got maybe a few 13' AAA'd in my life but i NEVER got a flag on one of the first try ( i'm talking about Max love
) also, i semi-sightreaded it.
How could i end with a single great will all the issues on this cab, what i said above and the fact that i didn't even try that hard.
Dazzlin' is also a great exemple. A flag again but with my worst MA ever on any attemps of getting a decent score on something on a easy song. It really makes no sence for me when more than a third of my steps are perfect and that i get ONLY a single great. I know it happend to some people bu that's the first time it happend to me and again, on this particular broken cab.
To finish, sometimes, i don't know the f*** i'm doing because of the drift issue on some songs and i still end with decent scores.
Even one of my friend that doesnt played that much now came with a 96% on Ubertreffen when his best on the same cab before upgrade was around 90%.
So yeah, i really want to know if somehow, for an obscur reason or nor, the timing windows got enlarged.

The timing window is the same however, favours those who play visually.

Looks like Hottest Party windows to me
(don't quote me on this, but I've noticed that I get higher Perf counts every time on those games).
Max Love has been reported to be VERY on-sync, apparently it's one of the easiest songs to MA/score on despite it's length.

The timing windows are unaltered. At least on the American x cabinets, the patch only altered when each judgement is "hit". That is also why there is a delay from when you see the judgement compared to other games that are instantaneous. I don't know about X2 in Europe though.

Factory X2s have better PC hardware (relative to X) so the game runs a lot better than X2 installed in the X cabinets.

If the PCs are off-the-shelf could not someone stuff some extra RAM or a better video card into the machine? Or does the game expect certain hardware specs?

For the most part, the game only wants to work with ATI graphics cards, and is only guaranteed to word with the same one that is in the PC. As for ram and other hardware, as long as no drivers need to be installed to run it, then you should be fine adding it to the PC, although for X2 I don't think it will make much of a difference.

It would help to know how the hardware change between mixes improves the game. If it's a matter of RAM or video memory that might be an easy fix for arcade techs. If it's logicboard bus speed difference that might be a little harder.

So from what i read, timing is the same. It's really weird because the upgrade makes scoring (in some case) like cake.
It's still hard as hell to figure what you are doing with screen lags + drift.
I wish someone knew about this but it's very specific because it's only about upgraded cabs and only in europe...
Atm, everytime i get a score, i feel like cheating.
I have a bunch of scores to enter from the last week, a lot make no sence (like the 2 that you can see on the first post).
Anyway, thanks for the answer guys. I hope to see a bit more, even if it's to say that i'm wrong lol.
@Brazen : You didn't feel any difference when you played it ? (i guess you played on a upgraded cab with drift too no ?)

I sensed it somehow the first time I played X2 (JP). Felt like the timing window somewhat enlarged. IMO this is for compensating the lack of ALMOST...
