Hello everybody:
I have a question about this announcer in my Stepmania program.
How i can make possible this announcer be like the arcade. Emm, how i can explain that?..mmm...make the voice very fast in the game, in the combo, after to start the song, in the music wheel, the sort, etc.
For example: do you know that voice after the 50 combo, before the combo, after the 100 combo, before the 100 combo...gameplay comment good, gameplay hot...all of that..!!
Please help me...theme editors, or people that know my problem!!
Thanks!!
nobody can help me..?????????????

"Wow, 4 types of corn!" |
I don't know how the SM announcer works other than on "triggers", but I believe his question is related to having the announcer randomly pop in and say something like it is on DDR. I would think most of them could be covered by triggers (x number of seconds left on the song selection screen, xx combo), but sometimes the announcer just pipes in seemingly randomly during play and I don't know if the SM announcer does that.

During game the SM announcer only does x00 combo (multiples of 100) and every so often he says something depending on how much you have on your lifebar.
You'll need to fiddle with the source code to change the characteristics: Stepmania doesn't do things like 50 combo triggers and I don't believe Stepmania fires the announcer to say something every few bars like DDR either.

"Give me a steady beat." |

StepMania mimics the cues that DDR uses for the announcer but it's probably not perfect. There's lots of premade announcers if you search the net for them.
I do know that EXTREME seems to have two announcer scripts running, and sometimes the cards almost overlap.
"Keep steady 'till the end100 combo!"
It seems like half the announcements are quieter than the other half on EXTREME, I've come to the assumption that since DDR machines are equipped for back-channel speakers that it was used to create a surround sound effect in the game.
It does.

The line-out at the back comes off the same audio feed that goes to the internal speakers (the DDR 573 only provides -one- set of phonos)
PS: There is a very suttle 'echo' effect on the announcer as well.
