Marathon Record 2: Doubles Play

Now shit gets real. After Guinness completely unjustified disqualification of my record attempt I decided to give a metaphorical finger to them and do it again, this time on doubles.

Details are unknown at the moment but I will probably try to do it at Zuma Fun Center again on the X2 machine following the same rules before. Here's a recap of the rules:


You must start on the easy difficulty (this time it's Basic) and move up one difficulty level every 5 hours. You are given a 10 minute break after every full hour you complete to use in part or in full at your discretion. You are not allow to fail any songs and you must provide user input within 20 seconds when it's required (this is where I got screwed the last time, they claimed I did not follow this rule but failed to tell me where I broke it).

I will once again stream this online.

To my knowledge, this is the first time this has ever been attempted on doubles and should prove to be quite a bit more difficult to do than the previous record, but I am fairly confident I can do it.

I may attempt to raise the necessary funds to get an adjucitator or possibly get a company sponsorship. Here's hoping.

I've put in my application to Guinness, so I'm serious about this.

Isn't Guiness required to tell you exactly where you broke the 20-second rule from last time? If not, then what really prevents them from rejecting any record they "don't like" for no reason at all by claiming that the record holder broke a rule?

You give a valid point and it's this very reason why I plan on publicizing this event as much as I can. Given the back story I could probably get enough media attention and also attempt to discredit Guinness's validation methods.

In less difficult terms, Daiz, you have my full support in this. As far as I'm concerned you already are the record holder. And you have something that other kid doesn't have; Credible witnesses.

I'm currently looking to get a 2nd player involved with this to attempt it on another machine.

So now I'm thinking about doing this at a convention this summer. Any suggestions?

You're going to miss out on a whole convention to do this?

Forget that. Go to a con, enjoy yourself, and do this record thing as a separate occasion.
