First of all, welcome to the ZiV forums! Enjoy your stay!
Secondly, to answer your question, no, you cannot do that. However, with the right skills, you can get them to a revision 21 or 23 ITG 2 cabinet.
I just came to say hello.

Pro-tip: There is not a single DDR home console game released ANYWHERE that allows you to put in .sm files into a DDR console versions database/files. And if you think there will be one, you can easily forget that idea ever coming to fruition, Konami just will not and will never put out a game where you can put in your own songs into the game. I don't think any major gaming company (scratch that GH2's engine was ripped out and was used for Frets on Fire i believe, or it was GH3's engine since there was a PC version of it) that will allow you to that. Except for Roxor. But look how far it got them Roll Eyes

"Give me a steady beat."
There was an XBox (Original XBox) port of StepMania a long while back... it's long dead though and I heard of very very few people actually making it work right.

There's also tools that can convert the PS2 version of In The Groove to accept custom songs. It's a lengthy and exhausting process and requires a hacked PS2 (Or at least disc swapping) but Google should have some info for you.

Good luck.

"OMG KON!"
Putting songs on DDR is impossible. Even if you could get the data on there, the audio is compressed in such a way that any effort makes it stupid to attempt (I am basing this off the arcade versions). People have tried, and so far every attempt ends up the same... incomplete.

As for putting songs on in the groove for PS2, that is possible. Its a pain in the ass to do and you need to have a lot of time dedicated to the project to get everything working perfectly. The only reason why this is possible is because in the groove uses stepmania's engine, and the data is setup and used in almost identical ways.

As for what AeronPeryton stated about stepmania for XBOX, that was pretty easy. The big problem you will face with that is finding a stable and easy to use softmod (UnleashX and EvolutionX are probably your best bet) and actually finding the stepmania xbox build. Don't expect to go nuts with customizing the game though, almost all themes makes the game crash and many features are sort of half assed to get everything working on the XBOX. Oh and if you mess up installing anything you are putting yourself at risk to kill your xbox.
