I actually had never heard of Dance 86.4 until reading about it in "Continuing Combos".

I've known about Mambo a Go Go, simply because of DDR EX including a song from it.
I stole DDR X2 CS from the internet; it's my fault the music game genre is dying.

Martial Beat is obscure? o.O

It got 2 PSX releases, and an ellaborate CS controller.

"Keep the frequency clear."
Dance 86.4 is simply DDR made for kids with ridiculously easy chart and some bombs.

Mambo is fun enough for me, although it's a little difficult to hit the conga sides (the bottom left and bottom right side).

Toy's March is, so far, the best of the listed games above. While the rating is from one star to five stars, the difficulty expands from the easy one to the one that can get you arms cramp, such as Mei in Hard.
I'm a DDR player, but never make a AAA.
No, I'm not a IIDX player, but I'm a BMS player.
No, I'm not pnm player, and I haven't play pnm simulator yet.

I've tried Mambo A Go Go several times back in the day. It's really fun and the music is very nice, I think this was TOMOSUKE's only stint as a sound director. I can only play the easiest setting but the game can go up to 9 panels, three sensors per conga drum.

Martial Beat is wicked. That game would be perfect to revive on the Kinect. I love playing shaolin warrior to Dancemania songs.
I don't play simulators. Only the real official games.

TOMOSUKE has also been sound director of several pop'n music games and the cancelled BEMANI title Rap Freaks.

On-topic, sadly I've never played any of those games. I've just played a crappy Toy's March ripoff Sad

I can never remember which is Diet Channel and which is Aerobic Revolution, but one used most of the licenses that later appeared on DDR Festival, and one was full of terrible Thomas Howard songs.

Both have terrible charts, and no option to play less than 6 minute-long songs :{

Diet Channel has the FESTIVAL covers. Aerobics doesn't list any songs. I wanna see some videos. :>

The only Aerobic Revolution song that was catchy enough for me to even remember the name of it was Fortune.

Mambo A Go Go was very fun, it should have never died off like it did.

More trivia: Gamelan De Couple Normal and Hard are strictly for two people or more. It even warns you, in Japanese, on the song select screen. Lots of triple hits, rolls with other notes, and other parts that just aren't made for just two hands. The unlockable Super Hard difficulty has a one player chart for it if I remember correctly. The Super Hard difficulty also has Krank Heit exclusive to it, the hardest song in the game.

It had an odd Extra Stage system. One random song has a note with a coin on it. Once hit, the coin goes to the corner of the screen, and another random song gets the coin. The coins carry over from each game; if the game ends with 3 coins, the next game starts with 3 coins. Once a certain amount of coins are collected, the game lets you play the game's theme song: One Minutes Kitchen Battle, a shortened version of what would eventually be 100sec. Kitchen Battle.

I can't help on videos, but this website has a songlist for Aerobics Revolution.
Ditto for Diet Channel.

So, whatever happened to Groove Motion DDR?

It was supposed to include the old Dynamite Rave.

Was the DDR Gameboy series part of the Bemani Pocket games? Those were fun, especially with the 8 bit remakes of classic DDR songs.

Let's not forget the so called PIU rip off known as pop'n stage. It's pop'n music for your feet.

How is this a rip off of PIU? pop'n stage is a DDR/ITG/PIU related game, but they didn't steal PIU, KONAMI owns DDR, which came befoe PIU, therefore, the game is using the same database as DDR. WHICH is owned by KONAMI, both pop'n music and DanceDanceRevolution.

polarbearjosh likely refers to the fact that both pop'n stage and Pump It Up use a similar button layout.

However, on pop'n stage you can only play on half-doubles or (full-)doubles modes, so gameplay-wisely isn't exactly the same.

I've played Mambo A Go Go on abysmal congas and good ones.

I played Dance 86.4.

I played both versions of Toy's March (1 & 2). MEI and Xepher are mind-numbingly hard.

I haven't played Martial Beat, but I can play it if I want. It's around here (ONLY ONE MACHINE) and it's been there since like 2 or 3 years ago.
