Chart Discussions

My friend and i were talking and we were making a list of the most difficult charts, with our cliche consensus #1 being Valkyrie Dimension. Then we reached our main problem: New Decade or Possession??? I went for Possession, as the end stream runs and air make for a deadly combo. My friend chose New Decade, his reasons being that the freeze patterns and overall complexity make it more difficult. I was hoping maybe you all could help out and tell me where either i or my friend went wrong. Also, if there are any other charts you would like to praise or complain about, feel free to

OMG, YES!! I need to say this. I LOVE these two songs.

POSSESSION, to me, is easy. Here are a few reasons:

1)185/370 BPM. This is a speed most people who have been playing for about 4 years on average could handle, unlike 200/400 BPM, which drains you quick.

2)Hardly any crossovers. Unlike New Decade, which is 400 BPM AND crazy crossovers near the beginning (the "everybody get it now") *correct me if that part of the lyric is wrong)

3)A lot more "resting parts" in my opinion.

As for the 12th jumps, at first, it's confusing, but you'll get used to it. I find this part very unique as a DDR song.

New Decade and why it is hard:

1)Crazy fast jumps. Not as crazy as the Challenge chart though.

2)Like I mentioned before, the crossovers are CRAZY.

3)The last part (and some part before) is very confusing, rhythym-wise.

Oh, and I think Anti-matter is the second hardest song next to Valkyrie Dimension xD

I do see where you're coming from. The patterns in New Decade make my head spin just watching xD. I will give you this: POSSESSION does have more recovery points AND that in the beginning, it's not a problem. Both have the capability to drain you, but New Decade does get outstandingly more intense(Those freeze arrows are a bit nuts, i'll give you that, too.) The only thing i have to make a case for POSSESSION now is the ending. Not so sure if some of those jumps are reasonable. I always thought 888 was a bit more difficult than Anti-Matter. Anti-Matter gets it's difficulty from the BPM changes, 888, while it does speed up, is not fully powered by speed, rather rhythm and pattern-wise

Too bad we're not talking about double, then it would be Possession all the way. It's harder than VD Oni on double, especially by the end, and is thankfully regraded to level 19 on X3 (test location, anyways)

But there is one chart that i think needs a bit a discussing: DEAD END (GRS) It strikes me as funny. Any thoughts??

It almost makes no sense. It's like the big middle finger to us, like "You want hard? Well, take this and shove it" Those jumps?? I don't know ANYONE that can do air THAT fast. It just doesn't make any sense. I honestly think I could do better than that. It's just plain unnecessary. It has to be one of the most un thought out charts in DDR history

How BROSONI full comboed that song is beyond me.

To be honest, placing POSSESSION as the least difficult of this bunch is saying a lot.

It's a testament to the difficulty of each song and how DDR has changed

Remember when MAX 300 was the hardest song in DDR? Now it seems like even the average players can pass it with at least a B or an A.

I do indeed remember when MAX 300 was the big boy on campus. Now people are like "MAX 300?? HAH!!!!!!!" I remember when MAXX UNLIMITED was on top, too. Now it's like no one cares about them, Has-beens, so to say

I remember wanting to pass Max 300. Now I have this same feeling for PSMO. Not that I attempt it everytime I go play, because I'm currently focusing on AAing 14 footers.

I remember when i passed CHAOS Even though there's a to it, i thought i was king of the world. Now i feel the same way about FELM. I wanna pass it SO BADLY

I only fluke passed FAXX once. I never passed it since.

Oh well, I can still beat FELM with effort, so that's a plus.
