I recently bought a ver 5 control box from cobalt flux, it arrived today and I've tried using it with stepmania with disappointing results. I know I have the buttons mapped properly but something strange is happening, I have the back button set to select on the control box, nothing else and during play I see in the background as if the button is being held down.
I have it elevated and it is not being pressed down by anything. i also have a few random arrow misses etc but I'm going to work on those one at a time. Anyone have any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated.

have you tried holding the up+start+select buttons for 5 seconds on the pad before starting?

Didn't think I had to do that for this control box. I just did a thorough cleaning and checked the wires and that all looks good. I'll test and see what happens, but that still doesn't explain why the back button is being displayed in the background at all.

"Oh god what I have dooooone?!" |
you don't. Check stepmania's test input panel, see what's going on in there, try pressing everything, see if it registers input, etc, and report back.
