[Simfile Repository Change Petition]CD Titles!

This is a simple request for a simple change to the simfile database here on the site.

*.JPG
A lot of people who make simfiles use ".jpg" extensions on their backgrounds and banners.
The site requires banners and backgrounds to be in .png format to upload them.
This is quite a hassle when you are receiving a collaborated projects files from multiple people and having to convert all of their banners and backgrounds just to get them here.

Understandably useless, removed.


CD Titles
Another thing that this site lacks are cd titles in the folders.
When multiple simfile artists come together in 1 pack they normally put their signature in with the simfile, so people know who made this custom sim.
The site has an awesome feature allowing you to update simfiles, backgrounds, banners, mp3, even VIDEO!
Even better it allows you to generate packs!
But when you have groups of people working on 1 pack that really poured their hearts and souls out on these files they want people to know "I did this!".
Unfortunately the site doesn't support the inclusion of CD Titles unless you use custom zip files, which in turn are NOT included in the final auto generated package.
This is a sad thing indeed for those that work hard and want some recognition.

You could have just asked for it instead of doing a petition.

Just open the JPG file and save it as a PNG. problem solved.

The inclusion of uploading CDtitles however I can understand. It seems silly that you can upload lyrics but not a CDtitle. That's my two cents.

The JPG compression algorithm is way less attractive-looking than the PNG. Plus, when you consider how many people make banners/BGs in Paint still, and that Paint saves JPG files with at most 75% quality (last I checked), you're just asking for grossly aliased graphics.

Converting JPG to PNG takes all of four seconds in Photoshop or the GIMP. Heck, there are even batch conversion programs out there.

CDTitles, though, I entirely agree with. They're still in common use in both the Stepmania and r21 communities and deserve as much support as lyrics. A readme slot would also be a nice option, but that's not quite as important imo.

I only agree about the CDTitles part. it isn't that hard to convert from .jpg to .png.
This doesn't mean I'm signing it.

You can open the file in paint, hit save as, then put .PNG at the end. Problem solved!
