So I was playing Max 2 today on Workout mode and I apparently lost 420 calories in 20 minutes worth of song playing, not in total time.
Is this even accurate? Because 20 minutes worth of biking sure feels a whole lot more like a workout than 20 minutes worth of DDR stepping lmao.

Yeah, don't trust it. How many calories you actually burn depends on your play style. If you flat foot, double step, and use the bar, you won't burn as many. Also, workout mode says you burn x amount of calories per step. It's like that for every step, so if you have a 200 step light chart, and a song with a 200 step 16th stream at 170 BPM, it will be counted the same.

The number of calories you burn isn't important, so long as you burn enough to eat all the pizza you want.
But yeah, yourmileage calories will vary. Even comfortability with the level you're playing at matters a lot. If you psych yourself out nearly failing an 8', it's a lot different than being able to FC it with minimal stress.

I was playing 7-9 footers. I pretty much took that 420 calories and divided it in half lol.

I would say that every 5 songs on expert, which would be a decent amount of medium 8s and easy to medium 9s (with exceptions like Love <3 Shine's air, etc), would be around 100 calories burned considering heart rate is around 165-175 BPM.
