I used to play DDR a lot and I was pretty good at it. I haven't played in quite some time, so whenever I DO play, I can't last as long as I used to be able to. I'm out of shape.

Anybody know any good ways to start building up my stamina to get to where I used to be (padding high difficulty songs from MGD3)
Perhaps good courses or just songs from SuperNOVA (only Arcade version I have access to currently)

Well, I could pad some of the EX songs. When I say hard, I mean the highest difficulty. I wasn't 100% able to pass them, but I had enough to make it 95% of the way usually.

Like with Fascination MaxX on Heavy. I can almost pass it until the streams at the end.
I'm really trying to work on getting my stamina back up to around that.

This is based off my personal experience but if you want to build your stamina back up you have to start off playing at least a level below what you used to. Play that for a while and when you have warmed up play one or two songs on the difficulty you were able to for each session until the number of songs you can play builds up and you don't need easier songs anymore. It won't be instant but it will happen.

@RGTM: I'm going to one tomorrow after work, hopefully.

@Android, that's not a bad idea. Smile

My idea was starting at Beginner and working my way back up, but I don't feel that's the best way to do it. :I
Any other ideas?

Just jumping in has proven to not to be the best way to do it for me. I would do that at the movies and only be able to play one song and be totally exhausted before the movie and have to wait about 15-30 minutes before I stopped needing to sit down and drink water. Working my way up has gotten me good results and a higher energy level. Don't over exert yourself. Plus it helps to do some leg, back and neck stretches before you play.

Oh come on, dude, that's what makes it fun!

I'm just kidding. Laughing Hard Seriously, building your way up makes sense, it helps you gain energy and it builds strength too! For example, I'm part of my high school swim team, and when I do flip turns at the end of the pool, I push off and I go really, really, far. Not only do I thank my coach for helping me do the turn right, I also would like to thank DDR for giving me the leg strength to push off at a great distance.

Doesn't really surprise me, though.

I'm in the same boat. Christmas made me fat, and very bad at DDR :{

Maybe we sould make a Zenius Workout Club, and try to get some DDR-based exercise shedules we can all force each other to do on a daily basis? Big Grin

We can do it over ZiV TinyChat. All stream at once and see who can play the longest in a given course chosen by the users. Smile
Any takers?

I'm up for that, if we can set a night in advance, so I can set aside a few hours to do it.

I wish I had a metal. It sucks so bad playing on a standard dance mat. That is the only reason I even get to the point that I need to revive my stamina. Also, I wish I could join this workout club but I have no camera. Maybe there should be some kind of log where we can input our workout results but we need a photo to prove it. Just like the AC score tracker but it's CS and workout mode specific.
