Hi all,
I don't pay attention to the simfile community, so forgive me if this has long since been solved.
I remember there used to be some missing BGM audio files from DDR mixes that didn't get an OST (e.g. the songs from 3rdMIX ver.KOREA 2, Dancing Stage EuroMIX 2). Is this still the case, (i.e. do you still need some audio files), or have all the songs now been ripped? ISTR that Starian used to have an incorrect cut, for instance.
The reason I'm asking is because I've stumbled across a way of recording the background music only (i.e. no announcer or crowd) - it's nothing clever, just a side effect of installing DDR mixes on Guitar Freaks hardware (don't ask!).
The limitations are it'll be an analogue line-out copy from the RCA jacks on the 573 - I can't do digital rips. I've not tested yet, but it seems likely to work for any DDR/DS mix that was on the Bemani 573 Digital platform (aside from DS feat. Dreams Come True which has not yet been cracked). I've tried 3rdMIX and DDRMAX so far and all's good - for any other mixes I can but try and in the worst case I won't be able to do it
Let me know if there are any and I'll get them recorded.

Just 3rdMIX, really. beautiful 21c, Gimme Gimme, and Starian all haven't been cut perfectly. Unless you want to get high-quality versions of the stuff from EuroMIX 2 or the 2ndMIX club versions, then those simfiles might finally make it on this site...

And I still haven't heard Chotto Kittena (which was AC only in Club Mix?), once voted the worst DDR Song. Assuming it doesn't exist yet as a simfile.

I can hardly wait to hear and play it (I'm at the school's library) right now.
And thank you very much.

We need EuroMIX 2 because those songs were never on a home version. This is really cool.

The zanshin-na mix is truly terrible compared to the original: Laugh & Peace featuring Yoko Fujita - ちょっときいてな

I can't do 2ndMIX club -- it's an Analogue mix, only Digital mixes are available in security-cartless form (so that's Solo 2000, 3rdMIX (JAA, AAA, KAA and KAB), 3rdMIX PLUS, 4thMIX (JAA), 4thMIX PLUS, 5thMIX, MAX, MAX2, EXTREME, DDRUSA, EuroMIX, EuroMIX 2, Disney's Rave), and I wouldn't guarantee all of those work the same way (Solo 2000 and Disney's Rave especially are very different engines from the others).
I can certainly grab the 3rdMIX ver.KOREA 2 stuff (and probably EuroMIX 2, though I've not tested that) though. Ver.KOREA 2 is installed in there at the moment, so I might try and do that today!
So, to confirm: from 3rdMIX it's just:
* Beautiful 21C/아름다운 21C
* Gimme Gimme
* Starian
...?
Everything else is ok? Gyoung Go/경고? Shock? The-other-4-that-I've-forgotten-which-are-not-on-4thMIX?
From EuroMIX 2, it's just the exclusive licenses:
* Aaron's Party/Come Get It
* Stomp
* 5,6,7,8
* Cotton-Eye Joe
* Caribbean Queen
* Don't Try To Stop It
* I Want You to Want Me
* Love you like a fool
* That was then, this is now
* The vibe is right
(Is that all of them?)

Well, technically we have the audio for the EuroMIX2 exclusives. http://makou.pestermom.com/ddruk/ I only brought them up because the official simfiles on this site all have high-quality audio (256 kbps... or was it 320?). Anyways, the ones from that link should be clean rips, but if they have the announcer on them, feel free to correct that.

Well, I can try and capture them and see how it turns out.
I'll be capturing to uncompressed FLAC, but since it's a line-out capture I don't know whether the capture quality will be better than the existing one (probably not). I'll stick with 3rdMIX KAB to start and see.

Don't analogue mixes simply store the songs as standard CD audio tracks? (hence, 'analogue')

Aren't all the club songs on their respective beatmania soundtracks and therefore in CD quality? I don't remember Konami editing them from their beatmania counterparts.

The ones on the beatmania soundtracks may sound slightly different than the ones in DDR. These Club Version songs can be found on the DDR 2nd ReMIX Append Club Version discs in CD-audio, which I have. I can rip the mp3's, I'm just too lazy to tag them.

From what i remember the files for EM2 and 3rd kv2 that were on DDRUK were made from cuts/bad lineouts of the machine. I Don't think we ever saw perfect machine rips of them or anything like that so it would be better just to do all of 3rd kv2's exclusives and em2's exclusives so at least that way everything is covered

If you guys want perfect rips then you can always sniff the decoded bitstream being fed to the MP3 chip on the digital I/O for every song. Better than lineouts or home version rips (because you're not transcoding from PlayStation XA to MP3 audio, assuming both are lossy)

I recall listening to RUGGED ASH on the beatmania 4th Mix soundtrack, and remember the last 15-20 seconds of it being different from the one used in DDR MAX US(and I assume, the CLUB versions as well). The soundtrack version had that portion of the song less audible than the game rip.

Most of the songs from beatmania that were on the DDR CLUB versions are different on their respective soundtracks. Besides, none of the Club Anothers and Queens Jamaica (astria mix) can be found on soundtracks.

What's the specification used on the simfiles here? 320 CBR? I can rip the mp3's. I just don't wanna tag them.

I believe The 7 Jump is safe in it's title of the worst DDR song.
