Is there any way to use my old PS2 mats with my PS3?
I bought DDR for the PS3 and it came with one mat but was looking to use the other two that I already have for the PS2. I would imagine that there is some way to cut and splice the old hook up to a USB hook but I don’t even know where to start. Hell it would be great if a hook-up was sol that would just change the connector to a USB.
Thanks for any help!

Welcome to Z-I-v.
I wouldn't go about cutting/splicing cords like you mentioned just yet. There exist PlayStation-to-USB controller convertors designed for use with PC. No guarantees, but since the PS3 mats use USB hookups as well, you could try that. One thing to look out for, however, is whether it registers the D-pad as buttons or an axis; if it's the latter, then you won't be able to do L/R or U/D jumps. The good ones should mention "DDR compatible" or somesuch in their descriptions.

Thank you for the quick response.
I was able to find this on google. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=ps2+to+ps3+controller+adapter&wrapid=tlif12916526868181&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=4774100914970793122&ei=Ww79TKXLOZCInAfb9vzGCg&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CB0Q8wIwAA#
Do you guys think this would work?

While the reply is late, I doubt that that 'converter' would work. It simply appears to be a butchered together ps2 cable that would cross a few wires and such.
You'd be better off going for a more expensive converter that specifically states that it works with dance mats. There ARE some out there, although I am not sure where to find them as of the moment.
