A few months ago we got a Japanese DDRX upgrade up and running in some bowling alley (at a 40~ min. drive, not too far, but definitely won't be going too frequently). The game runs great and all, however, there some weird-ass lag going on that affects the game visually, playing by sound it's not a problem but in DDR I tend to focus really hard on the arrow targets, and the screen lag really throws me off, making MA'ing basically futile unless the song is perfectly synced. I kinda heard (or read) that this was a known issue when the game was released in Japan, but it was patched and the timing went back to as it has always been.

My question is, is there a way to patch our machine through USB? Or does it needs to be patched exclusively through e-amuse?

sounds like you have the pre patched version. Thats how the upgrades were when they first came out.

does the serial code date says it's 20081224?

when DDR X came out on our country, we also experience the same problem
But when it was patched into 20090316, the game runs smoothly and the X-Specials will become playable.
Our amusement operator just patched it despite us not having e-amuse.

I'm hoping our DDR X2 will be patched as well since it's still 20100531 Sad

I hadn't noticed it before, but now that you mention it, yeah, the X-specials are missingSurprised.

Wish there was a way to patch our machine, it's still a blast to play but it sucks at the same time since you can't really get your best possible score playing the game w/o that patch...

Surprisingly I coped pretty well to the lag after a while. With the exception of hard songs, I was about to PFC lots of songs with good perfects count. Needless to say it's of course better when its on sync Tongue

Find a way to do an offline update, I know its possible.

I know it's possible to do an offline update since it happened on our DDR X.

But now. I'm hoping we can do an offline update on our DDR X2 here Sad

"OMG KON!"
I believe you can still plug the ethernet into the game regardless of if you are running e-amuse and the game will update. I heard once before that a arcade did that to download a update for SuperNOVA because they wanted to test what the ethernet did and it was to just download updates.

Do you mean that just plugging a working internet connection to the machine will automatically update the machine to the latest version? Is this all that has kept our boss songs locked all this time in SN1? I'd be shocked if that's true!

probably not, i mean the update has to be there in the first place. SN1 had no online accessibility at all outside of asian countries. only SN2 and X had online capability for us, so it wont work for SN.

Kon was referring to a thread on Bemanistyle where a few people plugged an internet connection into the back of the Python 2 in the machine and if I remember right, it may have attempted to update itself or something. As for unlocking the boss songs, that wouldn't work because 1. It was done of e-amuse which is only in Asia, and 2. It is discontinued anyways.

Yes this is what I was talking about. It will attempt to update the game. If its the latest version it obviously wont update then, but I am pretty sure it might work if you need the update.

I'd be interested to hear about whether this is true or not. I don't suppose anyone has a link to the old Bemanistyle post (I visit there about once every two years)?
