Hey guys. Can anyone tell me what's the best thing to spray on the pads at an arcade and wipe with so I can play my best without hindering my foot movements? Is Windex really IT, or is there something better I can use or make, like soap or something? This is to clean the pads right before playing and not unscrewing anything to clean inside the pads or anything. I.e: I'm ready for my round and I want to wipe the pad up so I can move effectively.
Also, should I clean my shoes with the same thing too. I seen players wipe the bottom of their shoes after wiping the pad up. Thanks in advance.

Well when we maintained the extreme at my local arcade, we used CRC glass cleaner in the can. It made the pads uber slippy, like you had to hold the bar or risk falling over slippy. You could probably try any cleaning product that polishes and isn't abrasive. And wiping your shoes with it just gets rid of any dust that's on them, which would otherwise defeat the purpose of of wiping the pads at all.

Is Windex hindering your movement? It's the amonia that keeps the pads from becoming slick. I've always viewed that as a good thing as I have never had a problem with friction, just a lack of it. I guess you could go to Walmart and buy really cheap glass cleaner that doesn't have amonia and see if that feels better.

spray some windex on the ground (assuming carpet) and rub your feet in it for a few seconds. wipe off dirt from the pad with a dry towel or paper towel.

Have some tough towels available along with degreaser, clean BOTH the pads AND the soles of your shoes. Proceed to AAA inmediately.

For shoes I recommend Shout!
Get a piece of carpet remant, and spray shout into the carpet. Wipe your feet off across a few times at your traction will improve dramatically. I use a store provided foaming degreaser for my pads.
